3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 obguthr (2385) - Poquoson, Virginia, USA - APR 26, 2008
Immensely piney aroma with lightly roasted chestnuts and caramel. Sparkling clear copper pour with a thin peach colored head. Bitter and clean finishing pine needle, but rather weak. Good, but severely lacking in something. The hops are good quality, but the malt doesn’t thrill me. The rating is very generous.

Well, this could be a pale as it is citrus or an English style IPA. Cloudy orange with substantial white head and a nose of orange-tangerine. Easy drinking under-control hoppy with a mix of hops.

Pours a copper color with a white head. Aroma is malt, caramel, and juicy resinous grapefruit hops. Flavor is caramel, a hint of soap, and a bitter juicy grapefruit hop finish.

nice golden amber appearance with solid white head. flavor is disappointing without a great deal of malt sweetness, with no real specialty malts coming forefront. the hop character is obviously present but not pleasant with it contributing mostly a bitterness without a great deal of flavor. i enjoy legend brews and this was a major disappointment.

22oz. Clear orange body with a fluffy off-white head. Nose is mostly sweet caramel. Body is fairly sweet, viscous style with more caramel and lots of grapefruit rind. Bitterness lingers on the palate for a long time. Fairly soft mouthfeel. This is probably one of the only IPAs I have enjoyed more as it warmed to room temperature, I was ready to give it a worse rating.
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 16/20 fredjaz (113) - Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA - FEB 16, 2008
This is a beer for hopheads only. very thin body, low malt presence. Basically just a lot of hops which is not necessarily a bad thing if you want a lighter beer without sacrificing a lot of flavor

UPDATED: FEB 14, 2008 22oz bottle. Dry, sharp, yeast-heavy dried lawn clippings and vinegary lemon in the nose - striaght, full hops, but they’re dry, arcid, and snappy - too much. Flavor is not much of a departure: sharp, snippy dried hop leaves an intensely strong bitterness on the tongue, with the rest of the experience being dominated by a yeast-heavy homebrew-esque dirtyness, and a cracker pils malt base that’s difficult to find and more difficult to enjoy due the sharpness and dryness of the hops. It sounds like I’m complaining but I actually liked this beer somewhat.
