Bomber. Pours a coppery color, thick white head. Seriously carbonated and leaves thick lace to the bottom of the glass. Plenty o’ hop in the nose - citrusy and floral. Flavor is spicy and seriously bitter hops. Not citrusy, but a spicy bitter. Finish is more spicy hops and a bit of citrus, with some medium maltiness finally working it’s way through.

Thanks to Immy for grabbing this one! Poured a copper color, to medium orange. Nose was of mild floral. Flavor was much of the same, or lack of the same to be exact. Not much going on, except for a lot of bitter. Ehh.

HWOH. Not many people liked this one, as it was pretty much loaded with diacetyl. Hoppy aroma but overshadowed by the butterscotch/buttered popcorn aspect. Flavor is more diacetyl along with a fair amount of citrus pine and apricots. Sweet malts throughout, with a finish that is dry and moderately bitter. Would probably be good if not for the diacetyl.

Deep amber coloured body with a short tan head and trillions of bubbles. Aroma of pure hops, malt, caramel and raisins. Light-bodied; Fresh hops up front with no backbone at all. More of straight citrus and herbal characteristics noticeable in the taste. Aftertaste very bitter and very light - no harsh characteristics at all. A nice IPA - clean and simple beer. Pure to the style as well. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Whole Foods in Clarendon (Arlington), Virginia on 10-March-2007.

Yeah, I get too much diacetyl in this one too. Really detracts at this level from what could be a quite tasty beer.

2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 Norton (312) - Southside, Richmond, Virginia, USA - MAR 5, 2003
Sampled a draft @ Capital City Ale House (Richmond, VA) - Pretty slightly reddish light brown. Tiny, vanishing head. Very dry aftertaste. I sense that infamous "Generic Microbrew Flavor" that I absolutely HATE in this brew. Extremely filling. Smooth on the tongue & throat, but gives me the weighed down feeling in my gut. I might try again, but I found nothing noteworthy in this beer except for the baffling name of which is basically imperceptible upon drinking: hops.
