COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is the Legend Lager made with Belgian yeast. This has a distinctly different flavor from their standard Lager with more of a hefeweizen flare.

Pours a mustard yellow color with a white head. It has a faint aroma of bananas. This lager is spicy with notes of cinamon, cardamom, and mase with a creamy banana flavor. It’s banana bread in lager form (well, not exactly your typical lager form). Only available at Legend Brewing Co. on tap.

Not sure what to call this. Interestingly enough, the waitress claimed this had been made with the Hefe yeast. Who knows. Pale yellow, little head. Aroma faintly spicy. Flavor was almost all yeast, the light malts of the lager utterly obliterated. Flavors were spicy, a bit of clove, and some coconut, a flavor component I don’t think I’ve ever picked up in a beer before. Not awful, but definitely experimental. Really highlighted the yeast in a big way.

On tap at the brewpub. Clear golden body with a medium frothy white head. Sweet light banana aroma. Very light banana flavor, with some light hops. Originally they were trying to crisp up the lager, but they went a tad overboard on the belgian yeast giving this a definite hefe feel. I’d call it a Kristallweizen but it doesnt have the requisite wheat.

UPDATED: SEP 13, 2006 Tap at Legend Brewing -- An experimental batch of the regular Legend Lager that was meant to give it more spice. Pale gold body with a frothy white head. A belgian yeast style aroma, banana and wheat. Taste is similar, bready, banana and some light malts, hops are rather limited. Almost a hefeweizen, but definitly a lager.
