Legend Oktoberfest lager is our most popular seasonal. This brew is red-orange in color, malty but well balanced with noble type hops. It has 5.4% alcohol by volume and is lagered (aged) to create a smooth drinkability. It is most similar in style to a Vienna lager or a Marzen beer. Judicious use of caramelized malt gives this brew a smooth sweetness and deep orange color. It is hopped with American Tettnang, German Hallertau and Czech Saaz.

10/9/2011. 22 oz. bottle. Pours copper color with an off-white head. Sweet malty aromas with caramel and light fruit. Flavors are a bit sweet throughout and not a lot of hops on the finish. Good example of the style.

Perfect seasonal brew. Color is amber red. Smells of honey, with a taste of Mellon, brown sugar and honey slightly toasted with nuts. Very good Legend beer.

12oz bottle pours a transparent copper amber with some creamy, slightly off white head. Smells very malty, cracker, grist, yeast, orange, bread crust. Flavor is malty, cracker, baked biscuit, a little root beer, some roasted parsnips, yeast. Smells and tastes like an altbier. Creamy finish. Decent, but not true to style.

UPDATED: MAR 2, 2013 Pours a clear copper with a modest amount of head. Not highly carbonated and really doesn’t leave any lacing in the glass. Smell is heavily caramel and taste follows up with extremely sweet caramel and breadiness. Mouthfeel is full bodied and creamy. I’d say this is a bit too sweet to be drinkable through the day but it makes a nice change of pace for a fall day. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
