clear amber, whispy white head, light sweet carmel malt aroma with floral hops, a swirl will kick up some fine head and citrus aroma, touch of drippy lace, good hop flavor on a well balanced carmel malt base with just a touch of sweetness, the sweetness grows into a butterscotch character, nice bitter finish

Bottle at London gathering, November 2005. Gift from The_Beer_God (thanks Mike). A second overlooked beer from the Beer_God bequest that was very lively and in questionable condition. Although there was no best before date on the bottle, it was at least a year old.Amber coloured, with lots of hops. But its very sharp and I’m not sure that was intended. As I’ll be in Virginia again next year, I’ll try to re-rate in its natural surroundings and in a fresher state.

CaptainCougar (6749) - Boz Scaggsville, Maryland, USA - JAN 26, 2007
Bottle, sampled in May of 2006: Pours a clear copper orange with a thin wispy-lacing white head. Nice, fresh piny grapefruity hoppy aroma has a touch of pale malty sweet balance. Body starts with a fresh green bittering hoppy presence and a touch of malty sweetness before a dry, bittersweet finsih. A crisp, drinkable APA.
