4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 MacDaddyOJake (274) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - JUL 15, 2007
Cask from capital ale in Innsbrooke. Big hoppy aroma with a substantial hop flavor. Good malt backbone to go with it. Not dominated by either, although the majority goes to the hops. Nice color, made for an enjoyable beer although next time I’d like to have it colder.

Bottle. Pours clear amber, loose white head. Butter and butterscotch aroma, with asparagus bitterness and some hops. Hop flavors are too distinct, separated from and above everything else. Metallic and sour grapefruit, sharp.
4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 thehinge (253) - Wilmington, Delaware, USA - SEP 27, 2006
Aroma is piney, a little citrusy. Hazey orange pour with a good off white head.
Lemony malts with a nice bitter finish. I would buy this again....now if only Legend made enough to distribute further North....hmm...

Pours slightly hazy dark golden with a nice off white head. Aroma is of caramel, fruits and malts. Has a nice hop character with lots of caramel and some grassy, malty flavor.
2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Siroy (220) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 11, 2006
[ Bottled ; chilled ; dates are unknown ]
A mostly diminishing average fizzy white head tops up a muddy medium orange body. Moderate lacing. Few thin particles. Few small bubbles. Bottle conditioned. Aroma presents malt being moderate grain /caramel while hops are moderate citrusy ... Yeast character is heavy dough. Also, there are evident evocations of sulfur and roten acidic fruits. Initial flavor is moderate sour/citrus while development leads to phenolic impressions. Finish is medium Light to medium body... oily texture... Soft carbonation...
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Jabic (181) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - JUL 17, 2011
Ar: Toasty malt with backgroud caramel and citrus, very slight peach and butterscotch.
Ap: Clear gold-amber - small slightly-off-white head with good retention.
T: Substantial orange and grapefruit up front, with a long and firm bitterness that follows to a clean and malty finish.
P: Medium body with medium carbonation, finishes dry.
O: This is really a nice pale ale - assertive and pleasant hop flavor and bitterness, plus some good malt character - beautifully simple.

Old Dominion Brew Fest 2005, nice Pale. Nothing shockily different but a good example.

This is an IPA. Pours orange with medium head. Smell of citrus and lots of hops. Taste of pine, citrus, and hops. Tingly hop finish. My second favorite Legend. Pretty freakin’ good.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 outerupt (133) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - FEB 26, 2006
22oz. Bottle and tap. Definitely the best effort in Legend’s standard line-up, this beer seems to have taken the IPA out of the former "Golden IPA" (now Golden Ale). The beer pours a light copper straw with a very oily, sturdy head. The hop aroma is quite nice, tending more towards the herbal than floral. Nice, if somewhat intense bitterness on finish with almost enough malt structure to back it up. My only complaint would be with the consistant musty note I detect in Legend’s malt used throughout many of their beer varieties.
