3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Terminus (2621) - Las Cruces, USA - AUG 16, 2005
bottle-thanks to whaleman for sharing this one at the tasting at bills this weekend. pours bright orange with a sudsy 1/2 inch white head. I think this beer looks pretty nice. bright orange and tangerine hop flavors with not much of a malt base here. pretty citric. I must agree with whaleman, how the flavors of the hops and carbonation meld tends to leand towards oxidization. light grainyness and metallic notes in the finish. vigerous carbonation again sugests oxidization. very dry finish from all the citric hop notes. no diacytl at least, but definatly still not a great pale.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 mansquito (1826) - washington, Washington DC, USA - JUN 1, 2012
Total Wine, Fairfax: Pours a copper colour with a quickly dissipating head. Aroma is not that powerful: light hoppage, with a hefty malt backbone. Upon tasting it, the malts take first whistle and provide most of this beers oomph. This is not to say that the beer is unbalanced towards malts, but rather that the beer does not have a hearty hoppy kick. All in all, this is an OK, but not a very good APA.

Draft at brewpub. Pours orange with a thin white head. Slight citrus note on the nose. Medium mouthfeel. Slight hop bitterness On the finish. Meh!
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 TURDFERGUSON (2759) - Carrboro, North Carolina, USA - MAY 20, 2012
Bottle. Pours golden with small fizzy white head. Nose is pretty weak- light earthy hops, some citrus, grainy malts. Flavor is lightly sweet, lightly bitter. Much better than the IPA for some reason. I’m guessing it was fresher.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Travlr (5419) - Washington, Washington DC, USA - APR 8, 2012
Draft at the source. Clear golden color, thick white head, solid lacing. Aroma of subtle grass. Taste is hay and white pepper. Safe.
2.1 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 freekyp (1296) - Thomasville, North Carolina, USA - DEC 31, 2011
Perhaps just the sampling glasses, but all the Legend beers I’ve tried lack a substantial aroma. This one pours light amber with a tiny wispy white head. Nice mellow carbonation. Flavor is semi sweet caramel malt with a fruity hop character. Balanced but one dimensional.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 tia (467) - Sandston, Virginia, USA - JUL 23, 2011
Hadn’t had a nice refreshing Pale Ale in a while. Light and clean piney hops with a crisp finish.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Jabic (181) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - JUL 17, 2011
Ar: Toasty malt with backgroud caramel and citrus, very slight peach and butterscotch.
Ap: Clear gold-amber - small slightly-off-white head with good retention.
T: Substantial orange and grapefruit up front, with a long and firm bitterness that follows to a clean and malty finish.
P: Medium body with medium carbonation, finishes dry.
O: This is really a nice pale ale - assertive and pleasant hop flavor and bitterness, plus some good malt character - beautifully simple.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 theyshookhands (228) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - JUL 11, 2011
Pours slightly hazy dark golden with a nice off white head. Aroma is of caramel, fruits and malts. Has a nice hop character with lots of caramel and some grassy, malty flavor.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 corby112 (1904) - philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 27, 2011
Pours a clear, dark copper color with golden orange hues and a 1.5 finger frothy white head that has pretty good retention, only slowly fading into a lasting ring. Streaks of soapy lacing left behind.
Slightly earthy aroma with hints of grassy hops and straw balanced by sweet malt and subtle light fruit notes. Slightly toasty with hints of caramel and biscuit.
Medium bodied with some bitter earthy hops up front that linger over a sweet malt backbone into a lingering dry finish. There’s a dry earthy/soil like hop presence with a resinous pine character. This is countered by the sweeter malt notes with hints of caramel and biscuit. I’m picking up some faint apricot sweetness toward the end.

Copper coloured. Thick beige head. Sourness and funky aroma. Some good hops on end and some quite bitter chocolate malt.
