3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 vyvvy (2920) - Florissant, USA - OCT 9, 2008
This really strikes me as an overall underrated style. I enjoy wits a lot and this was a great example of the style. It pours clear and golden with a patchy soapy head. The aroma has dry wheat malt, some cream, a good amount of coriander and light orange zest. The body is light clean and crisp with some graininess and some underlying sharp carbonation. The flavor begins clean and bright with a good amount of coriander, smooth malt, just a hint of sweetness and some orange zest. The finish is spicy and very clean. A great wit.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 ben4321 (2227) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - APR 13, 2012
Location: 12 oz bottle from Norm’s, 4/13/12
Aroma: The nose has yeast, a mix of spices, some lemon/citrus, and a little bit of banana
Appearance: Pours a slightly cloudy golden-orange color with a small white head and spotty lace
Flavor: The taste is mid-sweet, with a light bitterness, and components that are very similar to the nose
Palate: The body is medium, with a fairly clean and refreshing feel, and some creaminess on the mouth
Overall Impression:
Representing the RIC! I think this is the first time I’ve seen Legend outside of the Richmond Metro Area, and that is a good thing, as I’ve been a fan of their beers since way back in my days in Richmond. I’m sure I’ve had many, many of their beers well before my RB days, and Legend brown will always be my hometown micro, so nostalgia may cause my Legend scores to be a bit high (not intensionally). Anyway, that was a long winded way of saying don’t discount my rating for this one. I thought this one was a great example of the style. It hit on all of the components, that I was looking for, and I couldn’t find any real issues with it. An excellent, on-style Wit.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 TheBeerGod (4139) - Newport News, Virginia, USA - DEC 3, 2011
Bottle. Cloudy amber with a short, foamy white head. Aroma is bubblegum, wheat, yeast notes, spice and light citrus.Taste is sweet malt, wheat, candied fruit, light citrus, bubblegum, light banana, yeast and spice. Body is light, bubbly and refreshing. Thirst quenching as well. Ends with more yeast and wheat notes atop soft spices, candied fruit, lemon zest, orange peel, banana, light bubblegum, flowers and soft hops. Earlier Rating: 6/5/2004 Total Score: 3.2 Pours a clouded blond with a medium white head. Aroma is spiced with some banana and yeast. Taste is more spice and fruit and is a bit sweeter than expected. Sort of a grainy taste to it as well. The spice seems to stand out a bit too much towards the finish. Carbonated mouthfeel. Not too bad a beer, and very drinkable.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 riversideAK (4568) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - SEP 13, 2010
Tap at Legend. The patio is tight. Our waitress knew about the Huntsville Rapist video on YouTube. "He’s climbing in your window, snatching your people up, trying to rape em, so hide your kids, hide your wife, and hide your husband, because they raping everybody outchea". Nose is fruity with notes of yeast, some banana, orange, lemonds, and lightly spicy. Pours hazy orange, thin fizzy head. Flavors of wheat, oranges, yeasty fruity notes, light spicy notes, soft hop bitterness in the finish. Light, moderately sweet, but quenching and pleasant with a more noticeable hop presence than most in the style.

Hazy blonde coloured body with a nice white head and tons of small bubbles rising from the bottom. Aroma of wheat, honey, curacao, coriander seed and a great sweet scent. Medium-bodied; Nice mellow taste of coriander seed and honey with some floral qualities-very nice! Aftertaste super clean and a subtle spicey character follows behind. Overall, a damn good white - one of the best I’ve had - definitely worth trying if you can find it! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Norm’s in Vienna, Virginia on 04-July-2005.
