Just sõbralik hiiglane on andnud inspiratsiooni "Lõbusale Njuufale".

"Jolly Newfie"
If dogs are not against the grain, then at some point you surely have admired a Newfoundland (‘Newfs’ or ‘Newfies’). This dog is an eye catcher and with a reason – majestic, massive, and strong dog who shines with dignity and kindness.
This gentle giant has given the inspiration to “Jolly Newfie”. This beer is also large, black, and friendly. Pilsner malt, Vienna and Munich malt give the beer its powerful body, roasted malt gives the dark black color, Cascade and Citra Brand hops give the friendly taste of hops.
Unlike the dog breed legendary for its bravery, Newfie beer is unable to save your life. However, it can warm up a night out with friends.

330 ml bottle from Tallinna Kaubamaja Toidumaailm. Pours very brown, almost black. Beer seems to be very liquid, no viscosity. Has initially a nice foam head, beige - but that disappears rapidly, leaving some nice lacing on a glass. Aroma is not very strong but has some hops, some subdued roastiness. Taste has dark malts, roast and also floral hop flavours. Some sort of sour note lingering with some dry roast. Overall interesting beer, body a bit shallow for 6,5% beer - but it must be said that alcohol doesn’t show at all and it feels much lighter. Could drink it again.

Many thanks to rosenbergh for this bottle! Fruity malty but minty beginning. Smooth chocolate body. The hops are floral but for me too mint. It fits very well. Smooth malty but not too bitter aftertaste. Round and smooth. Nice malty-bitter aftertaste.

(33 cl bottle from supermarket; Batch #18; BBD: December 26th 2015) Poured at fridge temperature into a tulip glass reveals a pitch black body and a one finger tan head that recedes leaving film and plenty of beautiful lace. Aroma is somewhat subdued but has pleasant notes of grapefruit and citrus. Oily texture, medium carbonation, medium body and a relatively short, balanced finish. Flavour is balanced for the style with some bitterness that never gets in the way of drinkability. There’s a bit of acidity in there that I’m not sure comes from citrus-like hops.

33cl bottle @ Hopner. Pours black with a thin off white head. Chocolate, coffee, licorice in aroma. Citrusy, roasted malty flavor. Too old bottle (bbe 07/2015) but still drinkable.

Drank with Liedewij while hanging out at my room 11-8-2015 (bought at ’De Bierhoeder’). This beer was a pleasant surprise. Normally beers from micro-breweries in not-beer countries are below average. This one not. Very pleasant to drink. Rich, fulfilling taste. Liked it.

Bottle shared with Douberd. Dark ruby with light brown lasting lacing foam. Light roasted aroma, some citrus tones. Repeat in taste, adding some roasted malt. Decent beer. (Velp 201508)
