Tap in Meersburg. Menu called it a Helles, and I’m inclined to agree that it’s mislabelled here. Hoppy, tasted somewhat like the pils, no bread, but a sweet malty taste. Pale golden, clear, crisp but watery, bit of a strange taste – is that a note of mint?

Light amber, medium snow white head. Light sweet malt, hay, and bean flavor.

Solid little beer. Very grassy and skunky - quite afull body. Quite carbonated. A softness to it that belies the full body with a decent bitter finish. Probably closer tyo a pils than a helles for mine, but a good beer non the less.

#1193 Die Erscheinung ist ja noch durchschnittlich: Hellgelb mit feinporigem Schaum. Das Aroma lässt den Hopfen erahnen. Im Antrunk dann fest, schlank & elegant. Der aromatische Tettnanger Hopfen übernimmt sofort und bestimmt das Kommando. In der Mitte noch etwas getreidige Würze und leicht blumige Malznoten. Der Hopfen macht aus diesem Spezial wahrlich eine Edel-Spezial. Great stuff!

Leider etwas schaler Hopfengeruch. Allgemein fruchtig-aromatischer Verlauf, was schon sehr positiv wäre. Jedoch wird das ganze von einer muffig-bitteren Noten eingeschränkt, stellenweise sogar ausgeblendet. Selbiges gilt für den süßlichen Abgang. Gar nicht schön.Test vom 20.4.2009, Gebinde: Glasflasche

Sehr hopfig-würziger Antrunk, vollmundig, fast übertrieben. Im Mittelteil dann schon etwas milder, das Bier befindet sich auf angenehmer Intensität. Der nun etwas malzige Hopfen ist angenehm und natürlich und steht deutlich im Vordergrund. Im Abgang etwas trocken werdend, die kurze und milde Fruchtnote im Mittelteil ist wie erwartet verschwunden. Bottle 500ml.

Clear light medium yellow color with a average to large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, fully lasting, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, grain, hay, cereal, toasted, light hoppy, grass, vomit notes. Flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet and light bitter with a average to long duration, malt sweet, malt fruity, citrus. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20100615]

The bottle looks simple, but good, the beer in the glass also. Quite zippy, nice head. Starts hoppy-fresh, modest dry, not too bitter. Finish more spicy, still good use of hops. Very drinkable. I liked it!

Bottled (from bierzwerg.de). Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is saltwater, bready, a bit dough and grass. Flavour is quite much the same. Also some rather sweet, almost maizelike note in it.

Bottle 50cl. Pours a straw-yellow brew with firm and stable white head. Nice carbonisation, beautiful hoppy nose but always typical for style. A good Helles, i would buy it again!
