Where better to drink this IPA in the 'town brewery' of Leiden! Nice IPA, subtle tones and refreshing

Bottle (Petalax). Deep amber color, steady off-white head. Fruity, woody, dry yeasty aroma. Medium-bodied. Orange jam, citrus, pine in the sweet and hoppy flavor. Quite typical yeasty ned/bel area ipa.

Bottled. Amber golden colour, mediumsized creamy off-white head. Aroma is fruity, floral, some toffeeish and mild resiny notes. Flavour is fruity, mild gluelike notes as well as some toffee and mild grassy notes.

Keg at the North End English Pub, Leiden, 26/09/15. Hazed orange amber topped with a moderate off White swirl. Nose is citric pith, light pine, caramel malt, straw. Taste comprises light pine needle, orange pith, melon, hint of bread. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Drinkable but very pedestrian for style ... lacks hops.

Post Borefts VII, Day 2 - Leiden walkabout. Tap at the North End English Pub. Hazy amber beer, good cream colour head. Palate is light and minerally crisp. Thin malts, trace of caramel. Mild piney hops, little citric peel. Light crisp finish. A bit hop light but quite drinkable.

Bottle bought at the Mitra supermarket in Holland. It pours a lovely orange old gold, with a lightly tanned head which clings nicely to the glass. Beuatiful smell of sweet malts, citrus hops, notes of orangepeel, funky wet leather hints, caramel, lightly yeasty too. A lovely dry mouthfeel with roasted malts in the middle, fruity and sweet malt overall, citrus hops bitterness, well balanced between bitter and fruity sweet. A very nice aaipeejee indeed!

UPDATED: SEP 21, 2015 IPA from Leiden, thanks to Craftmember for sharing. Thick and creamy, thickly lacing, egg-white head and warm, deep orange blonde colour, pretty clear at first but misty with deposit. Aroma of orange peel, tangerine, light pine, biscuit, caramel, damp cloth, peach, roasted pine nuts, strawberry. Taste fruity, subduedly sweet, peach, starfruit, apple peel, citrus peel fraîcheur, soft carbo, lean and supple mouthfeel with a caramelly, lightly toasted maltiness, ending in an aromatic, leafy bitterness, citrusy, spicy hoppiness, long and drying, with fruity yeastiness piercing through. Nice and balanced, quenching; seen its yeastiness, I’d rather consider this a hybrid between American style IPA and Belgian IPA.

Goudkleurig, helder, witte kraag. Wat gist en mout in de neus, weinig hop in het aroma. Aanwezig co2, vrij vlak en waterig. Smaak licht bitter, zeer licht zoet. Meh.

33cl bottle at home. Lovely thick white collar which tops a hazy orange to amber brew. The flavours are filled with grapefruit, agrum fruits. And of course loads of hops, coming from the Cascade, Galena and Amarillo varieties. The hops do not prevail in the taste, which is kind of a blend of a premium lager sweetness-bitterness - a full malty mouth through the four kinds of malts: Pale, Munich, Cara and Pils - and an IPA hoppyness. The taste has notes of sweet berries, citrus fruits, mandarin oranges, dark green herbs, grass and malts. A seemingly iron-smelling ground water feature hints at a rather unpleasant note, but this is not that pronounced (for I think it merely lingers from the Cascade hops use). The beer is very lovely, the ending is not that sharp and the overall taste is so very well balanced.

Ruikt zoet. Oranje, dun schuim. Veel carbo, weinig smaak. Bitter, zoet erna. Blind geproefd, wel een bier dat beter wordt na de eerste slok.
