COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Leidsch Blond is a fresh fruity topfermented beer. Brewed with the best ingredients: barley, caramalts, wheat, munich, Hallertau and Saaz-hop. The label shows a painting by Jan Steen who lived in Leiden (1626-1679) and who’s of course a world famous painter. Less known are his activities as a brewer like his father was.

330ml bottle. Clear medium amber with a broken white head. Minimal lacing. Aroma: Grainy, light citrus hops, caramel & honey (?) Taste is dry to bitter, some hhe only advantage over the average blond here is that iit’s slightly less sweet. thin-medium body, average carbonation. Ok

Tap, pours golden with a white head. Aroma: not much really, some spices, a bit metallic. Taste: pretty spicy, orange, straw, slightly floral. A bit thin. Light sweetness, medium bitterness. Short dry finish. Average blond.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein trübes dunkelgoldenes Bier mit ordentlicher Schaumkrone. Geruch leicht malzig, fruchtig, blumig, grasig. Geschmack malzig fruchitg, Citrus, grasig, leicht hefig, bitter.

330ml bottle. Clear orangey dark golden to copper colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Grainy and unspecific fruity aroma, a touch of melon, honey, caramel. Taste is dry to bitter hoppy, minimally strawy, cautious malt basis with a touch of caramel and honey. Rather uninspired.

Bottle from ABC Beers, Den Haag. Poured a crystal clear medium amber with a thin broken white head. The aroma is malty leading to a malty, yeasty slightly aromatic hop flavour. Quite drinkable at a summer BBQ.

Backlog. Enjoyed from tap Aug 2004 (but had this on several occasions afterwards). Blonde color. Head quickly receding. Aroma’s: caramel malt, fruit. Flavor is light sweet & bitter. Medium bodied. Firm bitter finish. Nice one.

Draught at the Holiday Inn, Leiden. A slightly hazy amber with a tight white head; yeasty aroma with a touch of citrus; nicely weighted caramel malt body with some orangy fruit; and a satisfying finish. Really rather good.
