A variant on a porter, an old English beerstyle, that was very popular in London in the 18th and 19th century.

Thuis geschonken.

33cl bottle at home, shared with a friend. Very coffee, caramel, maybe woody aroma. Very dense, pitch black coloured, porter like beer, with little brown foam. Great taste, not that sweet, full of coffee, wood, raisins, dark fruit. Port on tongue, lovely bitter ending, dry taste.

Bottled. A black beer with a lazing brown head. The aroma has notes of chocolate, roasted malt, and straw. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, straw, and alcohol, leading to a bitter finish.
