COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Traditional stone beer brewed with super-heated stones.

Flip top bottle. The oranger shade of amber. Poor leaves a great head but it doesn’t last. Kind of a sweet beer (caramel from the stones, although I don’t know if they really use stones). Bready malts and some fruit flavors which likely come from the yeast. Light on the hops, but the overall effect isn’t too rich.

Trübes Bernstein mit viel Schaum. Hefeteigaroma mit rosinenähnlicher Süßlichkeit. Satter Antrunk. Neben der malzig-getreidigen Süße ist da eine gewisse Würze, die dem Steinbier die Süffigkeit verleiht. Klingt harzig herb aus. Harmonisches Bier.

Fairly strong toffee and kibble nose. Clear amber, medium head. Tastes as it smells, with more of an emphasis on the kibble. Little hope presence, grass if even that. Thin to medium body, alcohol not evident.

Swingtop half liter bottle pours a cloudy brownish orange with lots of bubbles quickly rising to a small off-white head. Aroma is full of grains, earthiness, some caramel malts, and perhaps a touch of honey. Taste is Mildly sweet with a slightly bitter dry finish. Body is medium without as much carbonation as I expected after watching all those rising bubbles. A very solid, refreshing and pleasant traditional ale.

Pours cloudy light brown with a small, vanilla head. Scent is grain malt, caramel. Flavour is malt, salt (from the stone heating process?), a bit of fruit, caramel. Earthy and full flavoured.. Nothing fancy, just a really nice traditional beer.

500 ml bottle. C. BB 10/10/13. From mein-biershop.de.
Hazy orangey brown colour with a big foamy off-white head. Malt, mild sourness, salt, earth and caramel in the aroma. The flavour is... delicious. Deep malty flavour with salt, earth, mild hops, lots of grainy notes and more maltiness. I like this a lot. This isn’t that special but still hits the spot. Mild bitterness in the aftertaste. Balanced. Zu genießen.

Swingtop from Ledgers. Pours hazy copper with a creamy beige head. Caramel aroma. Starts with a nutty suggestion, goes a bit bready, and develops some bitterness. It’s not dry, finishing malty, but it has enough bitter to pretty much balance.

500ml bottle in an English pint. Pours amber with an off-white head. Aroma of pale and caramel and toffee malts plus some floral hops and dough. Flavor the same. Average texture. Nothing special, but not bad.
