Recht unscheinbar, einfach zu trinken, mild in der perlung. Hefe häkt sich besonnen zurück, dafür etwas im.Weizen und Vanille. Ganz in Ordnung.

The beer has got a cloudy golden colour with a big head and medium body. Aroma of yeast and wheat. Taste of yeast, wheat, bread and fruit salad. Nothing I really like.

Hazy orange amber, off white head. Aroma of spicy citrus. Light to medium body, flavour is medium sweet, lightly sour. Not sure if this is in optimum condition.

(Rating #5996)

The beer starts smooth, malty. Nice typical Weizen-aroma there with a smooth caramel aroma. Very nice and very intense. Clove, banana, yeast. Very smooth. The aftertaste is long, smooth, slightly bitter with a Weizen-typical yeast-flavour and a nice smooth caramel-touch. Nice!

Dark orange color with well formed white foam. Aroma is not very intense, with banana, cloves, honey and sweet malts. Taste has slightly banana notes, spices, bubblegum and sweet malts, but is a bit watery. Good Hefeweizen, with lots of components, but no one highlighting above the others.

500 ml flip-top bottle bought at Biorganic’s booth at HKCEC in Wan Chai during HKTDC Food Expo 2014.

Looks: Cloudy hazy amber brown with dirt-like yeast sedimentsTwo-and-a-half finger head and crumpety off- white foam which lasts for 3 minutes; Excellent, thick layer of sticky lacing and near zero carbonation.

Aroma: Fragrant malt, with strong caramel, banana, wheaty tartness, vanilla, fairly light plums, light soot, bubblegum, sugar, strong yeast, light cloves, very light lemon and light grass.

Taste: Medium to light sweet thin malt, with strong caramel, strong wheat, strong soot, molasses, strong yeast, very light cloves, lemon, quite strong bitter hops and strawy grass.

Body: Close to light body; Thin but quite slick palate.

Mouth Feel: Moderate to thin malt with very strong caramel and quite finely-powedered sooty character. Wheaty presence and tartness is more or less suppressed. Not much fruity esters and clove is light, but molasses notes is strong to balance out the strong, quite raw-tasting yeast. Pretty good!

Hoppiness: Light lemon and light grass in nose. Notable citrus and strawy grass in nose and taste. Bitterness is strong for a weisse, mixing it up with with the soot for a lasting, medium bitter and sweet finish.

After Taste: Slightly dry. Quite bitter and strawy to mouth.

Comments: The hot stone factor gives this one a strong caramel malt character just like the Steinbier proper, but with a stronger and misty soot influence. It still manage to give a good traditional fruity Hefeweisse nose, but the post-Stein taste is rather deficient, not as fruity nor phenolic as I wished despite an unusually strong hoppy flavor. It’s on the right track and quite decent, if only there’s more estery tastes to make it top. Unique and likeable.
