3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
500 ml flip-top bottle bought at Biorganic’s booth at HKCEC in Wan Chai during HKTDC Food Expo 2014.
Light golden honey colour; One and a half finger head and crumpety white foam which lasts for 90 seconds; Excellent sticky lacing and active, slow-rising carbonation; Quite fragrant aroma of malt, with light floral, honey, nectar, white bread, light dough, light lemon and light grass; Mid to light sweet taste of moderate malt, with faint floral, molasses, light spice, light earth, light bread, lemon, quite strong bitter hops and grass; Mid to light body, quite slick palate; Mouth feel is German Pilsener with rather moderate maltyness, quite thin tasting. Some decent light flower and molasses, light breadyness to accompany the strong earthy hops. Pretty nice!... Hoppiness is light floral, light lemon and light grass in nose, pretty expressive earth, spice, flower, lemon and grass in taste. Interesting bitterness which is low initially but pick up quite handsomely as the session goes, achieving close to classic German Pils’ bitterness for an abrupt but sharp bitter-sweet finish; Slightly dry after taste. Lemony and bitter to mouth.
Comments: This is a Pilsener with a somewhat lazy leaning onto Premium Lager, namely thinner malty palate, and a little lesser floral fragrance. Yet the malt smells nice, nice sweetness and an slow-moving, confident, Saaz-influenced Pils-like hoppiness. Easy and very drinkable, I would certainly like to see its malt to get some more weight to be a full-on Pilsener. Likable.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Fazit: Gutes Pils.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
I’m unsure of the style (other than that it’s a lager), but it can’t hurt to pour it into a Pilsener glass, which I do. It has a pale yellow body with big bunches of bubbles lazily making their way up to support a lofty sudsy head. "Lace" is pasted to the sides of the glass as the head subsides (and I drink). The aroma is light, a cereal sweetness with a touch of corn and a soft grassiness. It’s very light bodied, soft in the mouth. The flavor is sweet cereal (not overly sweet) with some grasses and a dull, faint grassy/earthy bitterness. That earthy taste lasts long into the finish. This is a decent warm weather refresher.

Now I know where the guys from Sarajevsko get an idea for label design of their Sarajevsko Premium beer. Anyway, Leikeim has clear and pale yellow body, minimal white head. Malty nose and aroma. Also some corn. Metallic taste, watery texture. Medium sweetness with some bitterness. Really bad.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Swing top bottle 500ml, at home. Poured into a big Guinness glass, ABV 4.9%
Pale golden yellow colour on a clear body, good activity in it. Two fingers of white soapy and froathy head, average retention, spots of lacing every here and there on the glass.
Typical lager aroma, hay, malts, light bread, grass.
Sweet malty taste that it turns to a good bitterness on the aftertaste along with some light metal notes, german hops.
Medium thin body with okay carbonation. Good dryness on the palate.
Overall okay beer, much better than the majority of lagers on the market.
