Aroma is a minor roasted malt but enough to up the rating. Flavor is more of a bland pale lager. It’s kind weird with the color but it has that same grainy, wet paper bag that a regular euro lager has. Maybe a little more body then a pale lager.

Deep brown, ruby highlights. Moderate airy head. Aroma of toast, fruit, floral. Light body. Thin to oily. Dry taste starting with toast & floral hops. Some emptiness in the middle. Roastiness & hops in ending. Pleasant aftertaste. Very decent

Bottle @ weekly tasting shared with Thompson and Niilstrong. Dark brown color with a deep dark red glare coming through when held into the light, average sized off-white head. Smell and taste malts, lightly earthy, decently bitter, some dark malts. Medium body and carbonation. Quite good I’d say. Not an expert on Schwarzbier but I like this one.

(Rating #5999)
