beer festival. very dark body with large dark amber-mahogany body with tan head, thick and foamy and lasting. light aroma of roast and malts and coffee. very carbonated. a bit like soda. clean and smooth. slightly slightly bitter throughout. a bit above the cuff.

Pours a clear brown with a 3 finger, chunky beige head that has good retention and leaves a little lacing. Aroma is toast, roasted nuts, spicy and grassy hops and a light metallic note. Flavor is toast, cereal grain, floral and spicy hops, roasted nuts and grassy hops and a light metallic taste to the finish along with a lingering sweet nuttiness. Palate is light bodied, off dry and a little slick throughout with a light, kinda sharp carbonation. Not bad, but the metallic note knock it down a bit especially since it is a pretty light schwarz, it has little to cover it up.

Bottle bought in Germany, pours a dark garnet-red with a coffee crema-coloured head, dark malt and a little red and vine fruit on the nose. Roasty and bitter on the tongue with a little burnt caramel sweetness coming through, balanced with a tart winey note. Dry and burnt-bitter finish. A bit too gassy but otherwise rather nice.

Aroma is mildly roasted grains. The flavor is malts, roasted grains and a smooth finish. Kind of bland but passable.

Very dark brown with mahogony highlights.A greyish looking head with some lacing.
Aroma is a minerally lager smell with some skunk,smells like some octoberfests i had last season,slight chocolate.
Smooth with light chocolate but mild and has some roastedness in the finish while it has a bit of spice/pine like bittering somewhat lingering.

A deep brown brew with garnet showing when held to light. Topped with a large light brown head. The nose is sweet with cocoa and cola. There is also some peach and a little bit of bread crust. The taste is rich cola and a little bit cocoa. There is also some burnt rubber tires, especially in the ashy finish. Meh.

17/08 Draught at the BBF 2011. It poured clear dark brown body with smaller brownish head. Typical weaker coffee and caramel aroma. Flavor is pretty expected, caramel and coffee, but watery, thinner in body. Finish had some fine sweetish coffee notes, but was short and it didn’t help much on this beer. I actually did find it balanced but still uninteresting.

Draft at BBF 2011. Darkest brown, full creamy off-white head. Sweet dark malty aroma, creamy and soapy body. Caramel, brown suger. Medium carbonation, fuller flavor than most of the darker beers at the fest, at least. quite metallic, ok.

Das Bier riecht angenehm süß und nach Malz, der Geschmack allerdings ist nicht so gut. Malzig ja, aber recht plumb. Noch leicht herb im Mittelteil, im Abgang dagegen schon fast sauer. Ich habe mehr erwartet.
