2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 mansquito (1825) - washington, Washington DC, USA - JAN 3, 2012
Euro Market, Queen 500ml ($3.49): Pours a deep golden color with a white head. Aroma is grass, vegetal, and a bit of spice. Taste is much the same, which allows this to be a wonderfully chuggable brew. Is this really a winter beer? I guess, insofar as a winter beer can be virtually anything. Did I have anything against it while drinking it? No. Do I think that this is amongst the best in the style? Again, the answer is no.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 heemer77 (4799) - Urbandale, Iowa, USA - DEC 24, 2011
Bottle. Deep polished brass colored brew with a bright white head. The nose is slightly meaty with dough and some hints of lemons. Smells like a decently hoppy pils. The taste is bready and light with some notes of oranges. There is also some hint of hay. This is actually pretty light and refreshing. Pretty good, but not what I was looking for in a winter brew, this is more like a summer one to me, considering the style and the way it tastes.

Lightly sweetish and grainy helles, nothing special.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Koelschtrinker (7060) - Köln (Cologne), North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - JUN 11, 2011
Hopfiger Antrunk.

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 harrisoni (10070) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - DEC 12, 2010
500ml bottle from a work colleague’s trip to Eastern Germany. Clear pale gold, thick white head. Slightly grainy cerealy aroma. Bit syrupy in mouth and I don’t think that this is particularly fresh either but the best before is June 2011 so it must be this year’s batch. Just a bit of nasty wood and it is too syrupy on the alcohol in the mouth.
