COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Leine's Amber Light is a new kind of light beer - a light beer with color and flavor. Brewed with 2-Row Pale brewer's malt, Munich and Carmel malt for a lightly flavored body. These barley malts also give Leine's Amber Light its beautiful amber color. A light hopping with Cascade and Cluster hops provides a well-balanced, smooth, light flavor and drinkable finish.

Had this several years ago and I remember that it was among the best light beers I’ve had. No adjuncts in flavor and smooth in taste, I don’t know why Leinenkugel stopped making it.

Pale amber. Aroma of caramel malts and mild hoppiness. Flavor is thin with mostly caramel malts and hop water.

Vintage 2002 (135th anniversary bottle) 12 ounce bottle. Pours a nice, cloudy, light brown with a persistent, thin, foamy, white head. Taste is of caramel, fruit, grass, citrus, yeast, apple and malt. Similar aroma. Very palatable. The body is rather thin, but that is forgiven since it is a light beer and is seven years old. Easy to drink, is rather refreshing and is a nice treat. Has held up nicely for being seven years old. For a pale lager it is rather dark and flavorful. I wish they still made it and a little dissapointed that they don’t. I might have to find another bottle and age it further.

Bottle. Pours pale amber with fizzy head that deminshes quickly. Smells lightly malted, kind of corn-like. Tastes a little sweet, light, bread grains, with a hint of hops. Pretty good light beer.

Compared to other light beers, this Amber is one of the best. Pours with a light red color, and goes down smooth with a nice light taste.

This was a nice alternative to other light beers, and I’d put it in competition with Sam Adams Light or Amstel Light. Great color, but (not surprisingly) a watery taste. If only it tasted as good as it looked and smelled...

12 oz. bottle courtesy of Bockyhorsey - Bottled dated from last year. Pours an amber color with a 1/2 finger thick off white head that faded pretty quick. Has a light grain and herbal hop aroma. Has a slight tart lemony flavor. Light body. Not bad. Would have liked to have tried it fresh. Thanks Bill and Wendy.

Bottle. Clear, pale amber with a small white head. Aroma of grain and malt sugar. Mild flavor of corn and other grains. Not much else here. Heavily carbonated with a sour, grainy aftertaste. It’s not a drain pour, it’s just not real spectacular.

Picked up a single bottle at the Fiddler’s Inn in downtown Dallas, WI (across street from the Viking Brewery). Pours a clear light amber brew with hardly a head. No lacing no matter hard you try. Aroma is mostly corn malt. Aroma reminds me of the scent in the air while attending the Minnesota State Fair on the second last day. No hops presence in aroma either. Taste almost like Miller High Life with a little extra coloring. Finish is clean, crisp and hardly any aftertaste. At least I can say I tried this before this product is gone for good.
