Commercial Description:
The leaves - at the height of their color, but before the inevitable fall. And the apples - ripe for the picking, and the absolute peak of their flavor. It's this moment that you'll find captured in our new Leinenkugel's Apple Spice. We take the fresh, delicious taste of real apples - as crisp as the first bite off the tree - and add just a touch of cinnamon for a hint of spice. The result is a mouthwatering blend that's perfect for sharing with friends. It's flavor to the core. We use over 2000 pounds of apples in every brew.

Very disappointing. Being from the midwest Leinenkugels is a big part of my beer drinking. They offer several good brews, but this one just left a bad taste with me. Though I do admit I started to enjoy it more after I had two more. Maybe it was wishful thinking. The packaging is nice though the beer pours what looks like a very light apple juice. The only thing I could think off when drinking was Big Red gum. The cinnamon and apples come out back and forth. Much too sweet (Sunset Wheat is much better). The only Leinie i would probably pass if i was given it for free.

Intial pour revealed a light yellow sparkling body with a huge fizzy white head and good lacing. Nose was of apples and cinnamon. Initial flavor was apples and cinnamon with light hints of cereal on the smallow. Nice sweet beer. Light to medium body although some what watery. Would make a nice session. Great for the ladies. Goes well with chocolate. Would make a nice fill in for a riesling or a di asti if you are into wines. Bravo!

Smells like sour apple jolly ranchers. It delivers what it says it delivers. It tastes like applesauce with cinnamon but then has a horrible dry weird aftertaste. Definitely different but I would rather drink a Strongbow cider. I really think I would get sick off this stuff very quickly.

Aside from the cinnamon and apple flavor, it’s not too bad. Too carbonated. Wheaty full flavor, watery mouthfeel...very cidery when heated.

(Tap) Pours amber with little head. Very sweet and lots of apple flavor. Not very balanced, but refreshing during a hot summer day.

Cider-like nose and pour. Autumn seasonal sampled in June...which might help explain things somewhat. Very cloying spiced apple flavors...so strong as to taste like cider and very little like beer. Apple tastes sort of artificial and old. I’d take a pass on this one again.

Vile. Sorry, but I do not want to smell or taste a spicy apple in my beer. I am leinies through and through but they need to quit trying to get fancy with their flavors. Flavor is fake and putrid. Warmed up does not help. YUK!!!!!

When I first heard about this beer, I was intrigued. I love apples, autumn, and beer. However, the sharp cinnamon notes in the nose and the taste were way overboard. This beer is pretty bad cold; very thin, sugary, and spicy. I’ve heard it’s pretty good when it’s mulled like cider, but really why should anyone have to do that to beer? All in all, a good beer to try just to try, but nothing to search out again, unless you’re aching for a cavity.
