Commercial Description:
The leaves - at the height of their color, but before the inevitable fall. And the apples - ripe for the picking, and the absolute peak of their flavor. It's this moment that you'll find captured in our new Leinenkugel's Apple Spice. We take the fresh, delicious taste of real apples - as crisp as the first bite off the tree - and add just a touch of cinnamon for a hint of spice. The result is a mouthwatering blend that's perfect for sharing with friends. It's flavor to the core. We use over 2000 pounds of apples in every brew.

Light lemony yellow, clear with some steady bubbles. Solid inch high bright white foam on top. Settles to a thick skim always present and a nice curtain of lace starts it off as it dwindles into inky strings. Aroma is pretty nice with mushy brown apple parts, a bit of fresh redness and skins, pleasing little touch of cinnamon and sugar. A bit like the apple pies from McDonald’s. Taste is quite light, smoothingly crisp in its own sort of appley way, watery apple mix upfront, gets a partial sugaryness in the middle. The cinnamon floats in across the finish helping with a nudge of pie filling type mushyness and light doughy breadyness, which helps add some depth to this otherwise fairly average taster. Feel is fairly smooth with a fair and favorable carbonation, not brisk nor too lively, body is a tender shade of lighter sided. But keeps a small push into some rounded malty sweetness behind the apple flavors. Not a bad beer really. About what I was expecting out of Leine’s. Drinkability is good, perhaps it could get a bit tiresome with the flavors after awhile. I found it to be a simple, well made brew that would possibly please any fan of apples or apple pie.

I’ve rated this damn thing 3 times now. It’s apple cider + beer. That’s it. The apple spice/cider flavor is overwhelming.

Interesting flavor. However, if there is a beer that has a flavor that is cloying, this is it. I think I prefer most Ciders to this one. Definitely different and a good effort, just not my cup of tea. Very sweet! Too Sweet!

Clear golden color with a medium thin and fizzy white head. Thin, spotty lacing. Great apple archard smell really goes with the season. Dry, crisp body with a cinnamon applesauce flavor that unfortunately does not live up to the smell. Tastes pretty much like an apple soda. The finish is dry, short and apple-y. If this were a candle I’d burn it, but I won’t drink it again for awhile.

Very different than what I was expecting. Poured a creamy yellow color with very little head. The apple smell was distinct but not overpowering. There was a subtle taste of cinnamon and nutmeg as well as the apple. Pretty good, although one that I won’t go out of my way to have again.

Nice surprise here... Pale gold color, slight haze. High fluffy white head. Sweet apple aroma, like an American cider. Surprising malt up front, apple flavors nicely balanced by subtle cinnamon. I could do without the cinnamon, actually. Easy drinking and tasty.

Light orangish-yellow, slightly hazy, with a frothy white head. Apple cinnamon aroma is rather striking - Granny Smith apples with slightly artificial cinnamon. The apple flavor, however, are quite real, and you can tell. However, there is a sour, almost bile-like character to the aroma that makes my stomach think about flipping upside-down. Some granular cinnamon flavor, apple skins and moderate tartness. This is one of those beers that, after drinking, I still can’t tell if I liked it or not. Very interesting and well worth a try, that is for sure.
