UPDATED: SEP 17, 2003 Agreed. It's your girlfriend's beer for when she can't get a Dewey Stevens. Looks like Champale when you pour it. Gotta admit it smells nice. But tastes like a wine cooler with a bit of malt in it. Sweetness is almost saccharine. I mean it would be okay as a hot-weather cooler, but if this is all Miller can come up with in the fruit beer category, New Glarus has nothing to worry about.
On a second tasting, I had to drop this a few more points. Straight out of the bottle, all I get is a vaguely Trix flavored mess. And that's not even seeing the disturbing blue color.

12 oz bottle from backlog notes 07. Pours a slightly hazy reddish, orange, amber color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have berries and pale wheat malts, almost candied sweet, seems a touch artificial, pass in the future.

Poured from bottle. Aroma of fruit, hay and cream. Cloudy red amber with a bit of head. I taste raspberry sherbet, club soda, a bit of wheat and earth in the aftertaste. Lotsa carbonation. An interesting summer brew - seems more of a malt beverage than beer, but not bad.

Reviewed from notes: Pours a darker amber color with white head. Berries and sugar on the nose; follows onto the palate Very sweet, too much so.

This is the perfect beer if you are fond of drinking Robitussin or other cough medicine.

DATE REVIEWED: May 10, 2014... GLASSWARE: Lindemanís flute... OCCASION: NFL draft, day three--building the future (again)... APPEARANCE: slightly hazy, slightly bubbly light amber body with reasonably creamy white head; lacing forms icicles... AROMA: immediate raspberry that evokes cough syrup and Valentineís candy hearts... PALATE: a chiasmused mullet in mouthfeel--fizzy party up front, swift, flat drop at the throat; refreshing but also awkwardly lingering...TASTE: cranberry, raspberry, and malty--not offensive; like an Italian soda but extra sweet due to the malt; refreshing, but undesirably tart...OVERALLL: this is at home on the deck in the heat, or at a party where the other beer choices are pedestrian...not sessionable, and not worth a close-up here....

12 fl oz bottle. Pours a hazy pinkish orange colour with a small beige head. Very sweet aroma of berries and a hint of wheat. Very sweet flavour of artificial berries, syrup and a touch of wheat. Tastes a lot like a wine cooler. Too sweet for my liking.

12oz bottle 5/02 (Old Notes)-Pours a pinkish amber with a small head. Aroma of berries, wheat, and sweetness. Taste of the same. This light bodied brew is fairly good but a bit too sweet. Wife loves this beer cause it doesnít taste like beer.

Iíve had this a numerous amount of times over the years and it never changes. Hereís my notes on it. I poured it into a pint glass. The appearance was a ruddy almost brown to purple color with a less than one finger white foamy head that fizzles immediately. Boy, that wasted no time in dieing, ok, well, if anything, Iíll proceed. The lacing, well, ok, there wasnít much there at all no matter how many times Iíve had this beer. The smell, ok, well it had the "berry"-ness that it says it has on the bottle. Is this authentic? Hmmm...Iím not exactly sure and leave it at that. The taste was exceptionally sweet but added a decent tart blackberry-ness to it. Thatís pretty much all I can say for honestyís sake. On the palate, it sat about a light to medium with a decent sessionable quality running about it. The carbonation is fairly smooth. Overall, for the most part, I guess its a somewhat smooth drinking fruit beer. Would I have this again? Probably not, there just seems something that Iím not exactly getting with this one and I canít quite pick it out no matter how many times I have this beer. Weird, but Iíll leave it at that.

Look: pours a pinkish copper color. Head is slightly pink fading quickly. A little haze to the beer. Smell: smells sweet with heavy berries. Strawberries, raspberries. Champagne. Taste: very fruity. Extremely sweet. Berries all the way through Feel: not heavy at all. Highly carbonated. Overall: pleasantly surprised. Very sweet but well done.

Bottle, pours amber with an off white head, has a noticeable berry aroma, sweet taste dominated by berries with some malt, almost tastes like a wine color, I was hoping for a little more from this but it is fairly a pedestrian beer.
