Leinenkugelís is pleased to bring back Leinenkugelís Big Butt Doppelbock into its limited-release portfolio. The name "Big Butt" comes from the image of two goats butting heads that you see on the label. Bock means billy goat in German and Leinenkugelís Big Butt Doppelbockís name and label pokes fun at the goatís springtime mating ritual. The result is a malty, rich, full-bodied bock beer brewed with two-and six-row pale and specialty malts and two specialty hops. Like all Leinieís beers, Big Butt Doppelbock is handcrafted one batch at a time in our historic Chippewa Falls brewery.

The aroma is malty and nutty while the pour is a cherry coke brown with a non-lasting tan head and nominal lacing. On the tongue, the taste is much like the nose. Richly roasted malts and a nuttiness. Having said that, it was just not a good example of a Doppelbock. Sad. Medium body and medium carbonation. Overall, drinkable but kewpie doll.

12 oz. bottle pors a clear copper brown with small off-white head that leaves no lacing. Aroma has caramel malt, some nuts, and perhaps some brown sugar. Taste is slightly sweet, but without much flavor or finish. Body is light with slight carbonation--way too watery for a doppelbock. Itís easily drinkable, though. Nothing exciting here, except for the glare I used to get when I would bring home six o of these from the grocery store and tell my wife it made me think of her.

(bottle - 12 oz) Copper pour with a thin tan head. Very mild malty aroma and some vegetal hints. Flavor is mild and watery as well. Some caramel malts and not much else to it.

Bottle. Pours a mostly clear dark brown color with a small tan head on there. Nose has some strong caramel notes to it with just a bit of toasting to it. Taste is a bit sweet and nicely caramely. Pretty light and easy drink, though nothing terribly overwhelming.

Dark brown. Smell is sweet brown sugar, nutty, earthy. Taste is lots of sweet caramel, hazelnut, earthy. Tad too sweet for me.

12 oz.bottle dated April 2015. Pours a dark reddish brown, excellent clarity, with a small light tan head. Head reduces quickly to a thin ring. Smell: fine, rich, malty aroma with suggestions of dark bread and chocolate. Taste: Milder that the aroma suggests. Slightly sweet. Medium body with some bite rather low carbonation. O - Not bad, but rather mild flavor for style.

Ok so i donít hate this. But i donít like it either. There is nothing here to get excited about. Mild and lack later is really the only thing i can say about this beer.

Meh, this beer is entirely forgettable. Really just some caramel lager-like malts. Hell, it basically tastes like a Marzen. Iím not a Leinenkugel hater either. Not horrible, just not good. It is a pretty beer though, a chestnut color with almost a purplish-brown look to it.

12 oz bottlr poured. Pours a dark amber with a big frothy head. Lotion like, soapy aroma. Flavor is more mild.and smooth, but still a bit on the soapy side. This beer was just okay for me. Not quite the enjoyable flavors that I love in beer. Still glad I tried it.

Bottle. Pours a clear mahogany brown body with a small fizzy beige head. The nose is pretty nice, some sweet Munich and lightly nutty maltiness with a hint of chocolate and some light hops. The flavor is a bit less smooth and clean than I was hoping for, itís just a little husky and grainy. Some nice sweet malt notes and a hint of chocolate on the back end along with a light hop bitterness. Lighter bodied with fizzy carbonation and lingering malt. Decent effort, but not an excellent example of the style.
