COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Leinenkugelís is pleased to bring back Leinenkugelís Big Butt Doppelbock into its limited-release portfolio. The name "Big Butt" comes from the image of two goats butting heads that you see on the label. Bock means billy goat in German and Leinenkugelís Big Butt Doppelbockís name and label pokes fun at the goatís springtime mating ritual. The result is a malty, rich, full-bodied bock beer brewed with two-and six-row pale and specialty malts and two specialty hops. Like all Leinieís beers, Big Butt Doppelbock is handcrafted one batch at a time in our historic Chippewa Falls brewery.

Ok so i donít hate this. But i donít like it either. There is nothing here to get excited about. Mild and lack later is really the only thing i can say about this beer.

Meh, this beer is entirely forgettable. Really just some caramel lager-like malts. Hell, it basically tastes like a Marzen. Iím not a Leinenkugel hater either. Not horrible, just not good. It is a pretty beer though, a chestnut color with almost a purplish-brown look to it.

12 oz bottlr poured. Pours a dark amber with a big frothy head. Lotion like, soapy aroma. Flavor is more mild.and smooth, but still a bit on the soapy side. This beer was just okay for me. Not quite the enjoyable flavors that I love in beer. Still glad I tried it.

Bottle. Pours a clear mahogany brown body with a small fizzy beige head. The nose is pretty nice, some sweet Munich and lightly nutty maltiness with a hint of chocolate and some light hops. The flavor is a bit less smooth and clean than I was hoping for, itís just a little husky and grainy. Some nice sweet malt notes and a hint of chocolate on the back end along with a light hop bitterness. Lighter bodied with fizzy carbonation and lingering malt. Decent effort, but not an excellent example of the style.

Bottle. Pours a cola-colored red-brown with a high, fine-grained, light tan head. Very mild nose has maple, roast pecan, and cola notes, but is marred by a slight oxidized element. There is smoke, molasses, maple, pecan, and iced tea on the tongue, but itís very light; this is a doppelbock in name only, with none of the substantial weight that German doppelbocks have. Finish is long and brown-sugar sweet. Mediocre.

Looks and smells somewhat proper. Very light body, somewhat sweet, way short on maltiness. Tastes like a cheap adjunct beer. Boo linenkugels.

Dark Amber brew with small head that fades fast. Smells of toasted malts and something like a bag full of pennies. Tastes is a bit watery with a sort of root beer mixed with a lager thing. Itís OK but nothing I plan to purchase again.

Malty and sweet aroma which almost reminds me of a red wine for something like that. Deep ruby body with mild head that skims the top. Rich malt taste with a hints of caramel and nut. Feels rich and refreshing.

Clear deep dark nutty mahogany with a thin white ring of foam. Nice fruity and toasty nose with just a hint of fruity and malty bubblegum. Nice calm and smooth flavor with lots of smooth toffee and toast, a light citric and tree fruitiness, and a calm nutty toast flavor. Pretty nice.

Pours a deep amber brown color with a good head which retains well. Aroma is malt, bread, sweet caramel, earthy, and mild hop spiciness. Taste is nutty, malt, bread, caramel, mild spice, mild hop, finishes with a very smooth and pleasant nuttiness that coats the tongue. Overall a pretty good beer, saw a lot of complaints about oversweetness, most of those must just not like the style, this is a solid doppelbock, especially for the price. Only thing missing is maybe 1-2% more ABV and also a dry or raisin note that I love in others of the style.
