COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Leinenkugel’s is pleased to bring back Leinenkugel’s Big Butt Doppelbock into its limited-release portfolio. The name "Big Butt" comes from the image of two goats butting heads that you see on the label. Bock means billy goat in German and Leinenkugel’s Big Butt Doppelbock’s name and label pokes fun at the goat’s springtime mating ritual. The result is a malty, rich, full-bodied bock beer brewed with two-and six-row pale and specialty malts and two specialty hops. Like all Leinie’s beers, Big Butt Doppelbock is handcrafted one batch at a time in our historic Chippewa Falls brewery.

Dark Amber brew with small head that fades fast. Smells of toasted malts and something like a bag full of pennies. Tastes is a bit watery with a sort of root beer mixed with a lager thing. It’s OK but nothing I plan to purchase again.

Malty and sweet aroma which almost reminds me of a red wine for something like that. Deep ruby body with mild head that skims the top. Rich malt taste with a hints of caramel and nut. Feels rich and refreshing.

Clear deep dark nutty mahogany with a thin white ring of foam. Nice fruity and toasty nose with just a hint of fruity and malty bubblegum. Nice calm and smooth flavor with lots of smooth toffee and toast, a light citric and tree fruitiness, and a calm nutty toast flavor. Pretty nice.

Pours a deep amber brown color with a good head which retains well. Aroma is malt, bread, sweet caramel, earthy, and mild hop spiciness. Taste is nutty, malt, bread, caramel, mild spice, mild hop, finishes with a very smooth and pleasant nuttiness that coats the tongue. Overall a pretty good beer, saw a lot of complaints about oversweetness, most of those must just not like the style, this is a solid doppelbock, especially for the price. Only thing missing is maybe 1-2% more ABV and also a dry or raisin note that I love in others of the style.

Aroma is sweet with maltiness apparent. Has a very thick, frothy head. Very smooth almost like a Guinness but sweeter and comes off the palate quicker. I'm not crazy about it, but it's not too bad. I would consider it if I were really in the mood for a Guinness-like beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pour out of 12 oz bottle, clear dark orange-red pour with thin off white head, aroma brought notes of caramel, toffee, red fruit, some slight toast into a bit of spice, some cherry. Taste was a mix of red berry, toast, caramel, bread into a bit of yeast, slight spice, touch of grass, finishing slightly sweet, slightly dry.

bottle #1 from my sweet score of a mix six of all new ticks! .. . pours a dark maple .. no foam.. . expired molasses .. . very empty, mildy offensive wet cardboard finish .. . . is eating flour out of the bag in bad taste?
