Leinenkugel’s is pleased to bring back Leinenkugel’s Big Butt Doppelbock into its limited-release portfolio. The name "Big Butt" comes from the image of two goats butting heads that you see on the label. Bock means billy goat in German and Leinenkugel’s Big Butt Doppelbock’s name and label pokes fun at the goat’s springtime mating ritual. The result is a malty, rich, full-bodied bock beer brewed with two-and six-row pale and specialty malts and two specialty hops. Like all Leinie’s beers, Big Butt Doppelbock is handcrafted one batch at a time in our historic Chippewa Falls brewery.

This is a dark beer that is super heavy and malty, and drinks like a loaf of bread.

Pours clear copper color, with a 2-finger bone-colored head. Mild aroma of caramel mixed with a biscuit note. Medium body, just a touch syrupy, with a dry finish. Flavor is nutty, with touches of caramel and citrus underneath. Biscuit note at the back.

coffee, brown sugar & corn i smell, clear dark mahogany with thick khaki head. A light lemon atop the brown sugar and wheat bread flavors, sweet but not overly. Has a some weight in the mouth but still tingly..

Malty, nutty, and sweet. Hints of cherry and citrus. Earthy, smooth, and drinkable. A bit too much fruitiness for the style, but not terrible overall.

12 FL OZ. ($9.99 6pack) not a very good beer at all. taste is like watered down dark beer. lots of smoke though. I would pass for this price.

Bottle shared by Saturday Shirt. Consumed in a pint glass. Cherrywood in color. Aroma is kind of faint caramel and malt. Taste is mostly malty with hints of caramel and brown sugar. Smooth and easy to drink. Little bit of dark fruit and raisin at the end. Slight sourness. Decent beer for this style. I would recommend as a good option from a below average brewery.

A dark brown brew with a small head. A nutty, malty, with a little caramel thrown in making it awesome. I was shocked as to how drinkable and smooth this was. I’m going to try it again later since my rating seems to be out of whack with most others. Maybe it caught me on a good day or this one really appeals to my palate...kinda like how most IPAs don’t.

Pours a beautiful black cherry brown. Head is a light tan. Dissipates quickly. No lacing. Aroma of caramel malts, light cocoa powder, and buttered bread. Taste is sweet malts, with hints of caramel, chocolate and buttery cracker. Finish has some bitter and sweet black cherry. Decent take on a bock.
