COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Leinenkugel’s is pleased to bring back Leinenkugel’s Big Butt Doppelbock into its limited-release portfolio. The name "Big Butt" comes from the image of two goats butting heads that you see on the label. Bock means billy goat in German and Leinenkugel’s Big Butt Doppelbock’s name and label pokes fun at the goat’s springtime mating ritual. The result is a malty, rich, full-bodied bock beer brewed with two-and six-row pale and specialty malts and two specialty hops. Like all Leinie’s beers, Big Butt Doppelbock is handcrafted one batch at a time in our historic Chippewa Falls brewery.

This is a dark beer that is super heavy and malty, and drinks like a loaf of bread.

Bottle from Albertsons. Decent looking pour, dark, clear brown with a soft foamy beige head. Sweet, nutty aroma and taste, but kind of watered down. Finishes sweet, like a root beer barrel candy, and painfully dry.

Color is like a melted ice coke. Also the taste isnt too far from a sweet watery cola. Deserves better than the low overall rating. Leinies are fine brews, hate that the big name brings then down from the beer snobs. Not my favorite style but there is absolutely nothing wrong with this very drinkable treat. Perfect for a sampler.

foyle (374) - Wyoming, USA - APR 29, 2016
Poured from 12 oz bottle into pilsner glass Appearance: a 1" pillowy cream colored head falls quickly with a minute amount of lacing. Color is clear reddish-brown with moderate streaming bubbles. Aroma: very malt forward -- barley sweetness and ripe fruit, with earthy hops. Mouthfeel: light to medium bodied, prickly carbonation with a somewhat dry finish. Flavor: rich roasted malt flavor, chocolate, caramel, dates, raisins, earthy and herbal hops. Overall: pleasant and drinkable, maybe a tad too much carbonation.

Bottle from Kroger. Clear brown with amber highlights and a big resilient cream colored or beige head with light spotty lacing. Aroma of brown sugar, caramel, and bread. Taste is toasty and thin and lightly sweet. Slick, light-medium bodied, and a touch dry.

translucent mahogany with thin beige head. full body with high carbonation.

aroma: bready malt, slight caramel, subtle roast malt, fruity esters (especially cherry nail polish remove note from ethyl acetate), leafy hops.

taste: bready malt, bread crust, leafy hops, dark dried fruits, odd stale grain (6 row?) and metallic iron (rust or blood) finish.

Roasted malt aroma. Smooth malty taste. Goes down easy. Nice brew. Probably the better offering from Leinie.

gift from John Mays - Thanks! --- Aroma of light malt. Opaque dark brown color, beige head that quickly drops to the rim, a few lace dots. Taste is malt with slight pruning and a little oak that moves through a barely carbonated swallow to a touch of hops in a short finish. Typical Leiney - I can drink it, but don’t know why I would want to.
