COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Big Eddy Baltic Porter is a blanket of malt flavor. Notes of toffee, cocoa, caramel, toasted bread and sherry fruit flavors are interwoven to produce a symphony of splendor. Our Baltic Porter is an homage to the brewers of the Baltics and a tribute to our own historic brewing waters, the Big Eddy Spring.

12 Fl. Oz. Bottle. Dark brown with little white head. Aroma of raisins, roasted malts and caramel. Taste of malts nice bitterness (just enough) well balanced with hints of chocolate and caramel. It starts quite sweet but it gets this nice bitterness towards the end which makes it very drinkable and enjoyable. Very decent.

Very heavy and fruity. The best way I can describe it is... itís like drinking raisin beer.

Dark brown color, close to black. Aroma of dark caramel and animal, light phenol. Dark caramel flavor, some oxidization, cabbage, light malt sourness; correct bitterness; roasted nuts in the end.
Odd, indeed.

2012 bottle to snifter. First observation is that this is a lot lighter than I was expecting. Itís brown with a garnet hue. Short lived head fades to a thin collar around the glass. Lightly carbonated with slow moving bubbles ascending to the top of the brew. Sugar cane and light molasses aroma. Quite sweet and nice. Taste starts off sweet like the aroma but then balances out with a touch if bitter roast and finishes with a sugared black coffee flavor. Somewhat slippery in the mouth. Not as dark or as much licorice flavor as I was expecting but I like the coffee roast sweetness. Tasty.

Bottle. Pours a dark amber with a medium beige head leaving spotty lacing along the glass. The aroma is a bready malt and raisin. Thin mouthfeel with a sweet malt and chocolate with light dry finish. Easy to drink a good Baltic porter from Lienenkugels.

Pours deep, dark, reddish-brown with a short and shiny, dark tan head. Syrupy, prune aroma. Taste is heavy, woody malt...dull chocolate...slightly roasty. Smooth, dark bittering. Not amazing, but pretty decent.

First Baltic Porter. Poured from bottle, a dark color, dark brown, almost black, with a very small off-white head. Aroma is of roasted malts, dark fruit, some vanilla (maybe). Taste is sweeter than I expected. I donít have anything else to compare this to, but this wasnít as good as I expected.
