Bottle from Capone’s. Pours deep brown, and a lovely shade of deep ruby through direct light, with half a finger of fast-disspiating khaki head. Nose is charred black patent malt, cacao, blackstrap molasses. Tastes rich, dry, very charred, with the dark malt, soy saucy cloying flavor, dry hops late, and a medium palate heft. This one is a miss.

12oz bottle, 2012 edition. This was nice at first, but got really hard to drink as I carried on. Clear dark reddish color. Minimal off-white head. Plum, raisin nose. Dark fruit, light spice, light chocolate aroma. Medium / bigger body. Light carbonation. Kind of creamy. Pretty sweet-tasting. An alcohol taste reveals itself as this warms up, that does’t work well with the brew. I liked the others in the Big Eddy series. This was a disappointment for me

Stop the presses because this thing sucks mass! No way to get around it or other forms of harsh objurgation for this titanic f’up of a baltic porter. What da’ shit is this thing? Soy sauce and cola? It’s nothing; it evaporates on the tongue. Leinenkugel, you don’t know how to make finer stuff, so just keep making the mediocre stuff for the masses.
