3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours dark with no head. Aroma is chocolate and roasted malts. Flavor matches that. Very nice, thick and full-bodied. Not my favorite Big Eddy, but a solid beer.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Another nice Leinenkugel Beer. They should make more of these....Great bubblegum aromas and flavours. Palate is a bit thin...but it’s a nice boozy and sweet beer.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Reviewed from notes.
This was poured into a pint glass and a snifter. There weren’t any significant differences in either glass.
The appearance was a nice black color with a decent half fingered white to off white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute. There was some light trickling lacing sliding right on into the body.
The smell had some caramel, toffee, cocoa, toasted bread and a cherry-like fruit to it.
The taste took those previously mentioned flavors and added a decent dark roasty quality to it.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a decent sessionable quality about it. The carbonation was fairly subdued but still good.
Overall, I say this was a well worthy Baltic Porter to come back to.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Looks and smells promising but an odd flavor note keeps this from being a repeater. Never could place what it was but probably the same thing the previous reviewer called metallic.

2.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 8/20
Not a good malty aroma like I was expecting. No head. No carbonation. Flat gross beer.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Toffee, chocolate, and fruit. Leinenkugel’s, after nearly 150 years, is finally starting to get creative with their brews. It’s good, but the fruity aftertaste is slightly unappealing.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
[Bottle / 2012 / ~1 year old] Deep, deep brown with a dark-beige, slightly creamy cap. Unexpected clarity, despite the deep hue of the brew. Aroma isn’t as robust as I’d expect for an 8.5% ABV Baltic porter. Boozy cocoa, mild toffee, heaps of molasses, light nuttiness, some date/raisin sweetness... Not bad, but could be amped up a bit. Taste has lots & lots of dark fruitiness up front, with a mildly vinous, almost wine-like flavor. Boozy grapes, raisins, plums, & dates, even hitting with a faint, port-like tartness leading into a very sweet cocoa & cola flavor... Light astringency with molasses, licorice, & a touch of soy sauce in the finish. Not bad, but something’s missing to make this go from "decent" to "good". It’s definitely a "top-tier" brew next to the rest of Leinie’s line-up, but there are many other similarly priced porters/stouts I’d chose over this.
