COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Big Eddy Baltic Porter is a blanket of malt flavor. Notes of toffee, cocoa, caramel, toasted bread and sherry fruit flavors are interwoven to produce a symphony of splendor. Our Baltic Porter is an homage to the brewers of the Baltics and a tribute to our own historic brewing waters, the Big Eddy Spring.

Bottle. Pours deep brown with a beige head. Light roasted malts, some toffee and chocolate sweetness, toasted grains, and lighter earthy notes. Decent.

A decent Baltic porter. Balanced, I would like a bit more bitterness edge but still a good drinkable porter. Dark coloured, fizzy disappearing head. Middling mouthfeel. Lots of chocolate. An extra in a trade, I think Beerenberger.

Bottle 12fl.oz.

Clear dark red brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is light heavy malty, bread, roasted, light raisin, light brown sugar, iron notes. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, brown sugar, raisin, prune, fruity. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20130222]

On tap at a bowling alley - first or second time trying this style. Burnt aspect to it.

very malty, sweet rich fruit aroma. A little cocoa as well. lighter taste than I expected, almost seems to have a wine aspect to it, though finishes more bitter and roasty. A little alcohol. Sweet and malty.

Medium large, but short-lived brown head. The flavors, also, are good, but short-lived. They include a bread flavor, chocolate, and sugar cane.

Pours a deep fig brown with a small tan head. Aroma of metal, dark fruits, chocolate, and toasted nuts. Flavor of dates, chocolate, dry toast, and earth. Medium-bodied, with medium carbonation and a dry, earthy mouthfeel. Decent but I normally like this style better. Thanks for the trade JB.

Pours extremely deep brown with a thin tan head. Aroma of raisin and malt. Sweet smell. Medium body. Flavor doesn’t have a strong Baltic quality to it. Sweet barley brownie. The palate is sweet and lingering. Not bad, but not interesting.

Bottle - big thick tan colored head, dark brown color, super malty aroma and flavor, roasty, creamy, mild fruity notes - pretty good for the style I guess

Vintage 2012, 12oz bottle. Very dark brown pour, thin ring tan head. Aroma of molasses, sweet toasted malt syrup, dark fruit puree, and chocolate malt. Tastes like a burnt Belgian Dubbel. Chocolate malt, dark fruit, wood tannin bitterness. A bite of a boozy finish in the roasted flavors left behind. (3486)
