2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pours a cola colored brown with thin tan head, minimal lacing. Aroma is dominated by tawny port notes and less so by underlying chocolate and caramel. Flavor matches well, but just doesn’t sit well with me.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Clear mahogany with a tin brown head. Aroma of dark fruits, molasses, licorice, plum, toasted malts and alcohol. Taste of dark fruits, plum, dates, figs and alcohol. Sweet and sticky and I kept expecting it to get better as it warmed but no such luck. These Big Eddy beers all seem so similar to one another. Thankfully I got them as singles…

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is molasses, chocolate, malts, and alcohol. Taste is initially chocolate and heavy malts. Then comes mild alcohol followed by more malts and something raisin-like. The transitions are quick and end pretty quickly. There’s also some viscocity that makes itself known.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Leinenkugel’s Big Eddy Baltic Porter has a fairly thin, cream-colored head, a murky, red-brown appearance, some visible bubble streams, and thin lacing left behind. The aroma is of licorice candy, dark bread crust, sweetness, and candy sugar. Taste is of black licorice, black bread, sweet, melted hard candy, and a balancing hop bitterness at the end of the sip. Mouthfeel is light and watery, and Leinenkugel’s Big Eddy Baltic Porter finishes wet, rich, flavorful, and delicious. I did not detect alcohol with this. Overall, this is most excellent. RJT

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 0z. bottle. Pours dark brown black with a tight thin creamy looking khaki head that settles to a wispy film and collar. Aroma has some dark pitted fruit and wet cork scents with some fig, raisin and mocha. Taste is more raisin licorice and figs with a strong bitterness and faint bakers chocolate and a little yuk. Palate is medium sticky and meh.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Another nice Leinenkugel Beer. They should make more of these....Great bubblegum aromas and flavours. Palate is a bit thin...but it’s a nice boozy and sweet beer.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
This is an okay baltic porter. Its very rich, but a bit unbalanced in its roastiness. Tastes almost burnt.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Good pour w/ a very nice aroma but the flavor doesn’t quite match up. It had a cool dark pour w/ reddish hues & a big tan head that slowly fades. The aroma is an enticing blend of toffee & caramel. The flavor is smooth but just not as complex as I hoped. Still a very solid beer overall tho!

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
2013 Artisans craft Beer Festival. Poured a deep brown color with a decent head that fades fairly quickly. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, dark fruit and nutty. Taste is similar with roasted malt, some caramel sweetness, chocolate, dark fruit and nutty. Nice bitterness and a dry finish. Fairly full body smooth with a creamy texture. the 8.5% ABV is well hidden. Enjoyable beer, nice take on the style.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle:   Deepest of browns, moderate foamy beige head, spotty lacing.   Sweet roasted malt nose, slight
soy, a bit of dark pitted fruit, prunes and raisins.   Slight lactose and chocolate notes as well.   Right up front
its a bit of a slight sour/tart dark pitted fruit.   Moderate sweetness, fig, dates, and prunes.   Towards the end
it has a fairly moderate roastiness and apple skin, almost like many imperial stouts.   I am surprised to see this one
rated so low.   While not world class, its pretty solid.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate to full.   Lingering
soy infused dark pitted fruits.   Perhaps not as big or rich as others, but thats okay.   Its fairly warm in
Seattle now, so this is an easy Baltic Porter on a hot day.   This one is fairly good.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a deep fig brown with a small tan head. Aroma of metal, dark fruits, chocolate, and toasted nuts. Flavor of dates, chocolate, dry toast, and earth. Medium-bodied, with medium carbonation and a dry, earthy mouthfeel. Decent but I normally like this style better. Thanks for the trade JB.
