Bottle pour into tulip and a second one into a shaker on another day. Medium-dark amber. Full-bodied. Enjoyed the bitterness, but did not enjoy the heavy, caramel syrupiness Where some DIPAs are hop bombs, this one is a malt bomb.

Bottle. Pours good with thin white head. Aroma is simcoe hops and citrus. Flavor is simco and some lemon/grapefruit. Solid but I expect DIPAs to be more interesting than this. (To be fair, I dislike simcoe hops.)

Pour from a 12 oz bottle. Deep amber brew with dense head. Aroma of caramel malts and citrus, pine, and floral hops. Taste is sweet malts, immediate bitter hops, reassertion of the sweet caramel near the end of the swallow. Ends with a bitter citrus hops finish, some sticky sweetness remaining. Not a unique IPA but very solid, very good.

Really surprised by this one. Very good IIPA. Kind of reminds me of Avery's Maharaja. Thick, sticky IIPA. Big citrus aroma and well balanced. Recommended..... ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Blue Dog. Pours hazy straw colored with off-white head. Nose is complex hops, with fruit, florals, tangerine, pineapple, black pepper, and caramel malt. Tastes rich, very hoppy with a malt bill to balance. This one is enjoyable.

Best by Dec. 10, 2012. The beer pours a hazy brown color with a white head. The aroma has some floral notes, as well as some toffee and bread notes. I also get a hint of orange citrus from the hops. The flavor is better than the aroma. I get orange citrus and some pine, as well as a little bit of perfume notes. There is a little bit of bitterness, but the hops mainly come through in the flavor. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. While the beer was drank within the period set by the best by date, it tastes a bit like it is old, with faded hops.

Aroma: hay, floral, grass, leaves. Very strong. Appearance: amber, cloudy, minimal head. Nice color. Taste: very bitter. Doesn’t quite match the aroma, but still good. Palate: light body, soft carbonation, mild overall. Overall, pretty good. Doesn’t taste ast strong ast he ABV, and the package/aroma/appearance leaves something to be desired once you taste. Interesting, though.

Poured a clear amber with a nice white head. Aroma is floral, grass, citrus, caramel, cereal, and pineapple. Taste is light sweetness, bitter, and a slight alcohol burn to it. Enjoyed it.

Hazy, deep copper coloured body with a muddy glow and a thin, half centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of super pungent and resinous piney, citrus hops with a bunch of caramel and toffee noticeable. Full-bodied; Strong piney and floral hop notes at first with a good sweetness of orange and curacao behind and a bit of an earthy and herbal hit at the tail end with some hints of lemon verbena. Aftertaste is pleasant with a wide array of hops, alcohol, sweetness and citric notes, a full gamut of flavours. Overall, a nice Imperial IPA, and I wouldn’t have typically though that from the brewery, but a good beer, served in a normal sized bottle without an arm and a leg - definitely worth trying if you can find it! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Discount Liqour in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on 05-September-2012 for US$2.99 sampled at home in Washington on 28-September-2012.

I’m not necessarily the biggest fan if IPA’s in general, but I did truly enjoy this beer. Very clean, full, almost citrusy aroma. Smooth in taste with a very nice bold flavored finish. I would defiantly recommend this IPA to friends as well as put it towards the top of this list as far as IPA’s are concerned - in my beer drinking experiences so far.
