12oz bottle from Andersons in Sylvania. Amber pour with a light tan head and sparse lacing. Aroma is sweet caramel, tropical fruit and honey. Taste is malty for a dipa -- honey, toffee, biscuit, and pine. Medium to thick palate. Little warm. Not exactly what I go for in the style, but well balanced and tasty enough.

Draught at Blanc + Burgers KC. Pours a dark brown with heavy ruby colors. Aroma of citrus, pine, caramel. Flavor of orange/tangerine, pine, caramel, toffee. A nice sweet and citrus up front with a pine bitterness in the middle. Finish is slightly dry and citrusy.

Thanks iNBe. Very pleasantly surprised. Not a total hop explosion but had a big fresh hop aroma and flavor, floral hops and that. Malty, maybe a touch too sweet but really not so much to complain a lot. I’m going to say this was pretty good. Serving: Bottle

Bottle. Poured a clear medium orange color. The head was short, white, and reduced quickly to a thin film. Big caramel and cereal grain malt aromas with ample fruity hops. There was also a whiff of pine. Medium to full bodied and sweet with mild to moderate hop bitterness. A little sticky on the tongue. Caramel, subdued pineapple, orange sweet bread, and pine flavors.

Very nice brew. Big, heavy, hoppy.. I was surprised by this brewer. Its a far cry from there light fruity girlie bees. I’m looking forward to trying their other styles.

12 ounce bottle - $3.49 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.

"NOV1912" on the bottle neck. I assume I haven’t a second to waste!

Appearance: Pours an amber body with noted clarity underneath a foam layer, slightly yellowed.

Smell: Sugar encrusted toasted bread with floral, orangy notes from the hops (a slight candied, dried apricot fruitiness, too) and a slight whiff of alcohol.

Taste: Toasted, bready malts with a heavy pour of golden syrup and caramel. Large sweetness. Touch of dried apricot. Drizzle of orange oil with some comparatively easy-going resinous, floral qualities. Medium-plus bitterness, some heat from the alcohol. Sweetness slackens some, as does the body past the midway point, taking one an alcoholic sweet tea laced with citrus juice taste until the warming finish. There is a lingering bitterness, but, again, it’s comparatively light when set against many IPA’s, imperial or otherwise.

Mouthfeel: Medium-plus body. Medium carbonation. Some apparent stickiness to the mouthfeel.

Overall: While not exactly cloying, it’s not what many people are looking for from a Double/Imperial India Pale Ale. Sorry, it just isn’t.

Amber with tall off-white head. Molasses and hops on the nose. Taste is dominated by rich malt - notes of caramel, molasses, oak, raisin and maybe some vanilla. Ample grapefruity hops are present. Pretty smooth and drinkable. Fairly creamy. A nice 2XIPA.

Features a huge, light brown head which lasts until the last drop of this beer goes down your throat. Brown sugar aroma. Pleasant. Taste gets stronger after a couple seconds on your tongue. Slightly sour. Reminds me of a slightly aqueous Rochefort Belgian Ale. Lots of prune aftertaste. Sipper beer. Awesome!
