Dark orange almost amber pour from 12oz bottle. Super cloudy. Prune sweet and earthy aroma. Very sweet taste too. Not what I expected. Rich earthy piney and citrus taste. Something didn't taste right about it but got it down

In celebration of IPA day.
12oz drought at McNellies Tulsa
A - Dark pecan brown, on finger creamy head that sinks into a tight cap. Minimal Lacing.
A - Citrus hop aroma, sweet tropical fruit, apricots, melon, toasted bread, burnt caramel malt.
T - Sweet orange citrus, candied grapefruit, tangy fruit, sweet grain, burnt caramel, there’s an astringent alcohol note right down the middle of the drink. Finishes slick and slightly thin with a chalky bitterness.
M - Full body, thins out as it warms, low to medium carbonation, slight alcohol heat.
Not bad but not great. Very solid aroma and the flavor starts good but the thin mouthfeel and alcohol rinse out the other flavors. Worth a try.
Serving type: on-tap

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tap at Sugar Maple. Filtered ruby-amber-red body. Big, steady light beige/off-white head. Surprisingly nice tropical aroma..guava melon..very nice. Sweet and sugary. Very rich, but somehow a little empty and watery too. Resinous steady hop tones. The underlying malt seems to have a hint amber touches. Kind of brutal, not that enjoyable of a beer, despite the hop tones. Kind of what you’d expect for Leinies...not as good as the real thing.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle thanks to a trade. Pours a clear deep golden amber with a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of pine hops with a bit of musty grass and a sweet cookie note underlying. Flavor has a bit of resin with strong sweet grains and a touch of pine towards the finish.
