COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Big Eddy Russian Imperial Stout was brewed at Leinenkugelís tiny 10th street brewery in Milwaukee. This brew boasts a selection of 11 malts and grains balanced by three different and distinct hops. Dark and complex, with chocolate tones and notes of dark fruits, it is daring yet delicious. Travels well. Ages well.

Bottle, pours jet black w/ thin caramel head, big aroma of dark fruit and molasses, tons of black licorice throughout w/ a creamy bitter roasted finish, a very nice surprise

The beer is dark brown, near black, with a half inch of beige head that coats the snifter in lacing. Very presentable. The aroma offers dark roast, chocolate. Hints of coffee, but the aroma is dominated by dark chocolate and charred roasted malt. The flavor follows suit. Straightforward for the style. Simple and well executed. Lingering chocolate and roast flavors with a slight bitterness in the finish. A bit dry in the back as well. Surprisingly good, Iíll admit this is much better than I anticipated. Recommended. From the 12 fl. oz. bottle stamped 32513-B21010824. It pours a dark charcoal to black. The head is a silky beige but it eventually settles to just a ring. The aroma is of dark malts, coffee, and dark fruit such as plum. The body is creamy and bold. The taste has a kind of roastiness to it with plenty of dark malts and a lingering moderate finish. Very good.

2011 bottle from the Andersons in Sylvania. Black pour with a 1/2 inch tan head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is big roasty chocolate malts. Tastes are coffee, caramel, smokey, sugary dark fruit. Astringent dry finish. Covers the alcohol well.

Bonus bottle thanks Aaron. Pours jet black with slight light brown head. Smells of chocolate and cherries / plums. Taste of burnt bitter sweet chocolate and cherries and has a nice bittering hops that lingers till your next sip. Overall itís a good brew that tends to taste better the warmer it gets.

Bottle. Pours an opaque dark brown with minimal brown head. Smells of coffee, chocolate. Taste is pretty similar, very sweet, not a lot of bitterness in it. Smooth, easy to drink.

Pours black with a brown head and sweet aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, and alcohol. Taste is sweet and roasty, of roasted malt, chocolate, licorice, dried fruits, and wood notes with a dry, lingering finish.

Pours black into a snifter. Mocha head with little retention recedes to hug rim. Chocolate syrup and sour pit fruit aromas. Chocolate and dark molasses upfront turning to espresso and plum in the lasting finish.

On tap at Ridgewood Raleigh. Powerful coffee flavor. One of the darkest beers I've seen. Good taste. Would gladly order again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

2011 sitting my basement for a couple years. From the pour you can tell this is a big, heavy beer. Very dark, very thick, very little head. Roasted malt in the nose. Still some hop character, complex, roasted notes, smoke notes and some sweetness to it as well. Some underlying soy sauce in here too, which I donít remember when the beer was fresh. Very nice beer, would love to try a barrel aged version.
