bottle. deep amber with small head. big caramel malt, a bit sweet. fairly mild hops. just seems overdone, which is probably the point, but the end result just doesn’t strike me as a very good beer.

Pours a deep, clear caramel amber. Small off-white head, partially lasting. Big. Very malty, caramel, spice, rye, citrus, fruity hops, alcohol. Medium body. A bit barley wine-ish. ’Oktoberfest’ in name, but thats all.

Best Oktoberfest I’ve ever tasted. So far, my favorite. Sweet with shuttle hints of caramel, orange, molasses. Easy drinking beer over a fire. Goes great with cheese snacks.

2.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
12 oz. bottle served in shaker- poured a non transparent orange-sunfaded maroon color, one finger creamy off white head formed but went to perhaps to 1.5 mm within a few moments, very light carbonation. Aroma of caramel, hard candy, and wet rotting autumn leaves- perhaps I got the good "fluke" bottle- ha! Hits the mouth with a medium body, malt is there but so is ALOT of sweetness which decreases the enjoyabliity, a slight medicinal connotation in the middle, finish is sweetened to the point that you don’t know if you’re having a beer or a homemade soda. Meh... so much promise from the aroma, damn.

Not a particularly good oktoberfest. Tastes of stale caramel, pumpkin spices, and metallic off flavors.

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
bottle. clear amber with a small white head. fruity, malty, estery aroma. more fruity than toasty. in typical leinenkugel fashion this beer has a good bit of residual sweetness. the malts are sweet with notes of toast, butter and caramel. fruity, berry-like hop flavors. full body with slightly sticky. sweet and tasty oktoberfest candy.
