Appearance is a brilliant amber with an orange hue and minimal, slightly off whit foam cap. Aroma is strong caramel and toasted malt with a definite citrus/ floral hop aroma, which is interesting for an Oktoberfest. Taste is a deep rich caramel malt with a little roast and hint of citrus. Mouthfeel is rather thick with little carbonation. Finish is malt heavy and a bit sticky on the tongue. Overall, it’s what you’d expect for an "imperial" Oktoberfest. Nicely balanced with hops to keep the malt from being too overpowering.

12 ounce bottle from...umm, I forget, somewhere in southern Wisconsin in the last week (I’ve done a lot of shopping lately), served at cellar temp or so in a St. Ambroise glass. Pours a clear dark amber-copper with a moderate white head that diminishes to a thin lasting cap...nose offers lots of caramel, toasty malts, a hint of alcohol, a bit of cherry perhaps - comes off closer to a doppelbock actually...on the tongue a fairly strong caramel-sugary component mingle with some toasted, drier malt character, with a rather bitter (at least for the style), burnt finish...as far as hops go, I can’t really detect much, perhaps some faint piney notes here and there...body is smooth, a bit too filtered, but reasonably full-bodied, moderate carbonation, light alcohol presence and syrupiness. I rather like this, though I believe I liked it more when I had it on tap a couple of times over the last couple of seasons; ah, the joys of not rating!

Sample at KC Beerfest 2016. Comes a clear golden red with a small off-white head. Aroma of malt, caramel, and yeast. Taste is malt, caramel. yeast, and some floral hints. A touch too sweet.

Picked up single 12-oz bottle from Heritage Liquors in Maplewood, MN. Pours a semi-clear orange amber colored brew with an average sized off-white head that slowly dissipates. Aroma of roasted sweet caramel malt, a hint of floral & grassy hops and some mild maple. Taste is full bodied with flavors of sweet caramel malt, floral hops and lot of fruity esters. Finish is thick and semi-sweet with a caramel malt, floral hops, and a little alcohol kck. An Americanized Oktoberfest with bit extra hops and alcohol.

Pours clear copper, while eggshell head is fairly thick but not long-lasting. Malty aroma presents caramel, fruity and subtle hoppy tones. Crisp, sharp flavor sends malt and apple in the vanguard, while caramel and hops follow in their wake. Texture features firm body, if not much fizz. Happy October - and Oktoberfest anytime!

October 17, 2015 - sample via bottle at Barrels and Bacon. Clear orange pour with limited head. Liked this had a bit more alcohol to balance the spices.

Bottle; poured an amber orange color with a smallish off white head. Aroma of caramel, dark fruit and earth. Boozy and messy; caramel and dark fruit, mostly dry. Ok

Clear, amber, colapsing head. Medium body, forward flavor, refreshing and bubbly, less heat than one would expect from the abv though not lacking, longc dry and bitter finish. Bitter and dry despite tons of malt. Hoppy and malty, caramel, floral. If this is oktoberfest, I like it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a light copper color with an orange hue. Aroma of cinnamon spice and light pumpkin. Taste is of fall flavors, with pumpkin, spice, and rich malt dominating the flavor. the alcohol content isn’t noticeable and well incorporated into the beer.

Not terrible but this is one style that does not need to be imperialized. Probably my lease favorite of the series. Distinct lager aromas with roasted caramel a hint of earth. Pour was a clear medium brown with a thin off white film for a head. Taste was way too sweet and strong for the style. Mud, caramel and lager yeast with an almost sour sticky finish. Medium carbonation.

Bottle, pours an amber body with a white head. Aroma of malts and bread. Taste is a typical octoberfest-style beer with a hoppy note. Solid.
