COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Filling the senses with a fragrant malt aroma, Big Eddy Wee Heavy Scotch Ale features a variety of robust malts that create rich flavor and texture. Hand-selected malts include Pale, Honey, Caracrystal® Wheat, Roasted, Victory®, and Cherrywood Smoked. Like its predecessor, Russian Imperial Stout, Big Eddy Wee Heavy Scotch Ale ages and travels well.

Leinenkugel’s Big Eddy Wee Heavy Scotch Ale, a dense, mahogany-colored brew, features a creamy tan foam. As it warms, the layers of malt flavors will melt together revealing the subtle undertones of fruit and biscuits. As the brew mellows, it reveals more of its plum, raisin, and dark cherry flavors.

Poured a deep mahogony with a minimal head. Nose of strong malty goodness that followed in the beer itself. Alcohol to well hidden in this one though ;)

Pours a cola color with a medium head that fizzles out quickly.

The aroma is pungent and very malty, layers of chocolate, toffee, and roast with a little bit of smoke and plenty of alcohol.

The flavor is smokier than the aroma but the fruit character is pretty central here, red apple & cherry being the key players. The beer is sweet, with a good bit of toffee & the alcohol is very noticeable.

Sweet and boozy isn’t always my thing, maybe the mood just struck me right, but I very much enjoyed this.

I was surprised at how good this beer was. The place we went to did not know their beers. But this had a great malty taste and smooth finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Dark red and brown pour with an off white head. Malty, berry and smoky profile. Pretty good, but could use a little less smoke.

Reddish brown. Some malt some fruits. Opens up after letting it sit for a bit. First impression is that it isn't quite to the level I expected. Still it is pretty good... ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aroma is malts and berries. The flavor is raspberries, medium sweetness and a malty and slightly alcoholic finish.

Poured beer into glass very cold. Crisp bright taste right off the bat. Drank it slowly so it could warm slightly between sips. As the beer warmed new flavors and aromas came out. A shame it is only seasonal.

Draft. Brown color. Minimal head. Not much aroma at all. Doesn't appear to be too cold. I taste some dark chocolate. No lacing. Not bad a bad beer from a BMC company. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Dark brown and hazy. Nose is musty a slight sweet and malty. Taste is sweet, viscous, sugary, very malty. Not a big fan of sweet beers but this one is not bad.

12oz bottle pours a nice clear deep rutty red – amber with short lived tan head. The aroma offers up a good deal of ripe brown sugar coated cherries, prunes, some earthy dates and a dash of caramel. The taste is bold and a bit on the bright side with a mix of cherries, earthy dates, sweet prune hard candy and then a sugary maltiness as well as a dab of caramel on the side. It smooths out into a sweet finish. A bit of age should allow this to blend and pull up additional yummy complexity.
