Ruby colored with cola-like bubbles and 2" of camel colored head. Aroma is rich and sweet, like a well caramelized worth without the barky astringency. Taste is the same, with some coppery notes. A bit too sweet, with a cordial hint of alcohol, but not such a combo as to be medicinal. $3.5/12oz

Pours to a deep brown body with a dissipating white head. Aroma is peaty toffee and nougat. Brown sugar and tobacco. The flavor is rather rounded now. This was bought right when it was released. I tried it fresh, but it needed some mellowing. Toffee, smoky scotch, brown sugar, and maduro tobacco. The palate is medium full bodied and really clean. Velvety texture.

Bottle: Poured dark brown with an off white head. Aroma: Malt. Flavor: Thick and creamy palate. Tastes of malt, intense malt and caramel with bread notes. Quite tasty.

Bottle. Dark ruby red pour with fast dissipating white head. Aroma, caramel, malt and apple. Flavour is very malty. Bittersweet finish with an unfortunate alcohol medicine tinge.

Serving: 12 oz. bottle from State Line Liquors. It pours a deep tea like color with no real head to speak of. The nose has a lot of fruitiness to it, primarily apple, with a little bit of caramel. The flavor is sweet yet it’s a little astringent on the palate. There is a good bit of apple, toasted bread, and a slight earthy bitterness. For some reason this one tastes a little fake to me. Full bodied with average carbonation. I have to say, I would pass on this one.

12oz bottle. Pours clear, dark brown with a 2-finger light brown head that disappears too quickly leaving no lacing. Aroma of caramel, butterscotch and smoky burnt molasses. Palate is full body, oily/thick feel, soft carbonation and a long bittersweet sticky finish. Hides the alcohol very well. Quite a good brew!

Unique smoked BBQ and milk aroma. Very dark blackish magenta with nice lacing. Interesting flavors of amber malt, cinnamon, herbs and yeast. Alcohol is well masked. Some unique flavors I am unable to pinpoint are here. Overall, this is a nice change of pace. Very unique flavors.

Tap. Pours a dark brown with minimal head. Very malty flavors with apparent alcohol. Initial taste is sweet but then mellows into a smoky malt flavor with a lingering sweetness. Pretty good overall.

Bottle. Who would have expected this kind of malty goodness to come from the makers of beer that tastes like Fruit Loops? Thinking about giving their other small-run beers a shot.

Clear dark woodsy amber with a small foamy white head. Nose was peaty and darkly sweet with a bit of char and raisin. Flavor was a little boozy and woodsy, a little, with some gentle earthy peat and dark earthy sweetness. A touch of raisin too. Not shabby.

Tap at Dexters. Filtered looking burgundy-brown. Pretty smooth malt tones. Sweet toffee, raisin, nuts. Deep amber alcohol soaked woody malt. Relatively easy drinking, alcohol hidden well, incorporated at least. Solid, but I had higher hopes.
