COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In 1906, the Kolsch-style beer originated from the Cologne region of Germany as a crisp and light beer to combat the summer heat. Leinenkugelísģ Canoe Paddlerô is our take on the Kolsch-style beer that we tweaked with a touch of rye. Our spring and summer seasonal has subtle malt flavors, a clean finish and adventurous quality.

Pours a pale light gold, cleqr, light to no head. Aroma is slight bready, light lemon, light caramel sweetness. Taste is distinct malt with lemon, light grass, slight sweetness, watery, mineral, seltzer mineral water,. Lemon finish. Pretty lagery with some dietyness and. Rye? Not really getting that. Meh, like all their stuff. Ok summer session.

Sampled at the 2015 Joplin Pints ín Paws Mac-Fest beerfest. Unremarkable, bland kolsch. Best thing I can say is itís somewhat refreshing on a hot summer day.

Bottle from Fred Meyer. Medium golden in color. Grainy nose with a little malt. A little cardboard as well. Grains and malts up front. Moving into a little grassy hop flavor. A touch thin, but still pretty clean. Pretty tasty and refreshing.

My first Kolsch beer.

Pours a straw color. Barely any head to speak of. What head it does have leaves pretty good lacing. Iím not impressed.

Smells great. Itís very bright. Very clean and citrusy. Oh, like spring! I donít know exactly what it is about this, but it smells amazing.

Doesnít taste as citrusy as it smells. Doesnít really taste like a lager. But, itís really good. Itís well balanced. Is it sweet, is it bitter? I canít discern anything in particular, but again, itís really good.

Mouthfeel is great. Itís very light, very drinkable. Almost like a wine cooler. Finishes maybe a tad bitter. Wow! It;s really really good.

Overall, if not for the poor showing in the pour, this could easily be one of the best beers Iíve ever had. Itís delicious. Itís fresh. Itís clean. It smells great. It finishes great! Not only do I want more of this, I want more of the style!

Bottled boring yellow. Skunk aroma plus the barest hints of rye. Meh. Nothing really good.

Pours a kind of piss color from a bottle, quick flash of effervescence with little retention or lacing. Aroma is barnyardy, flavor is the same with some biscuits thrown in, like someone just threw some biscuits into a barn, like, here you go barn. Iím a little drunk.

Bottle: It has a straw yellow color with a white head and strong carbonation. The aroma is barnyard/Hay and the flavor is grain and slight bit of lemon. Very light body with a thin tongue feel. The finish is slightly dry.

Clear lemon yellow with thin whispy head and lacing. Missing the bitter kick I was hoping to get from the rye. Otherwise not very complex with a sweet finish. $9.99/multi sixer at Wegmans Leesburg VA
