In 1906, the Kolsch-style beer originated from the Cologne region of Germany as a crisp and light beer to combat the summer heat. Leinenkugel’s® Canoe Paddler™ is our take on the Kolsch-style beer that we tweaked with a touch of rye. Our spring and summer seasonal has subtle malt flavors, a clean finish and adventurous quality.

Pours a bright golden with alot of carbonation/effervescence. The aroma is that of pils, grain and light hops. Heavy carbonation evident in the palate. The taste is very non-descript. A bit better than Budweiser. The Appearance is it’s best quality.

Clear golden with a white head. Aroma is slightly sweet, slightly grainy, light spice. Well carbonate body. Not a ton of flavor in this one. Light grain, maybe some rye, and that’s about it. Not a lot to this one but it’s a decent thirst quencher on a hot day.

Bottle. Clear gold in color with a medium white head. Aroma of malt, honey, slight rye and noble hops. Malty and biscuity flavor with a sweet finish.

Bottle. Pours a clear yellow with a white head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma has lots of sweet grain with a bit of biscuit and some underlying grassy notes. Flavor is more of a grass and sweet grain combination with a sweet biscuity finish.

Hmm, not a distinct flavor here, its definitely light and clean but not a lot of rye, and not very good. too much malt I think? not fully sure.

UPDATED: FEB 19, 2015 At Epplyana. Wow, not a great beer but I didn’t think it would get this much hate. A lawnmower beer at best but less adjunct corn tasting than some other macros. Serving: Bottle

Aroma is fairly sweet malts. Taste is uneventful with some light malts. Overall just a refreshing summer beer.

Poured golden with large white head. Get some spicy notes. Some citrus. Overall ok but nothing to write home about

Bottle: Nose is malty and fresh, mild grass, malt and rye throughout the glass. Not really much rye, but the faint spiciness suggests that its present. Really easy drinking... not much to it.

Not bad. A little boring. The rye added a nice touch of spiciness............... ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
