2.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours pale gold with a creamy white head. Aroma is dusty. That’s an impression rather than an aroma. It hits my nose like dust does. Near med body. Flavor is bready, and there’s some hop bitter. I’m thinking this might pass in Koln. They like bland beer there.

2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottled. Poured clear, bright golden with a tall, sticky, stark white head. The aroma picked up lightly-toasted grains and corn with light rye and faint fruit/berry accents.. no real complaints, but I wasn’t excited about drinking it. The flavor found toasted corn, honeysuckle, and bread at the core, with rye and light herbal accents.. a kiss of acidity tried to cut through the sweetness on the finish, and it was quasi-refreshing. Light-bodied with good, moderate carbonation on the palate.. it was sweeter than I wanted, but it flowed well.

Bottle. Blonde body, average white head. Aroma is sweet grains with light sulfur and light yeast. Sweet grainy palate, bland, plain. Calling this a kolsch is a fucking joke. I have yet to have a Leinenkugels beer that impresses me.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle:   Pale golden, vibrant and clear, thin sudsy white head, spotty lacing.   Mealy nose, very slight cider note.   Soft sweet straw/hay, but with a little tinge of metal or tin.   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   Soft sweet straw/hay on the finish.   The metal aspect has gone by now.   Lingering malt sweetness.   Finishes better than it starts, but seems pretty boring compared to others.   Not sure I get any of the Rye either.   Meh...
