3.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Not a bad beer by any means, despite the reviews. I’ve not drank many kolsch style beers however I do think this is a tasty beer and enjoy the slight rye taste.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Poured a nice mid-gold with quite a nice thick head that faded to lacing. Aroma was of malts and hay. Taste was a unique mix of malts, rye, and hops - mild bitterness. Palate was acceptable. Overall, not a bad brew, especially after mowing the lawn.

2.1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Sulfur smell is a turnoff. Pours light corn tassel yellow with a rapidly receding small white head. Taste is malty with little hops influence.

1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle. Blonde body, average white head. Aroma is sweet grains with light sulfur and light yeast. Sweet grainy palate, bland, plain. Calling this a kolsch is a fucking joke. I have yet to have a Leinenkugels beer that impresses me.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Crisp refreshing summer beer, nothing special but just a notch above the typical summer lager, enough to make it worth drinking when the options are limited.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Very average, only a little more to it than a typical domestic light beer. It’s still a pretty good value for a six pack, but not very memorable. I like it better than the lemon-spiked summer seasonals though.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Leinenkugel’s Canoe Paddler has a thick, slightly off-white head, a clear, highly bubbly, gold appearance, and a bit of lacing left behind. The aroma is faint, but one can pick up some sweet and sour grain. Taste is of the same, with a touch of pepper. Mostly, though, you get water on this. Mouthfeel is light and watery, and Leninekugel’s Canoe Paddler finishes crisp, clean, refreshing, dry, and pretty much devoid of flavor. There’s just not much with this one. RJT

3.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle Courtesy of GodOfTheCellar
Pours perfectly clear & pale blonde with a huge thick, white, well retained head and nice lacing on the glass.
The aroma is basically like a sack of grain... pretty much just a ton of pungent raw grain. A touch yeasty... but mostly just grain.
The flavor is far more balanced and mellow in comparison to the aroma, a big grainy still, but with some light spicy hop notes, some light malt sweetness... I get a touch of that dreaded breakfast cereal character in the finish, but it’s mild enough that it’s not distracting from the nice things going on in the beer. It’s pretty damned clean tasting beer. It’s not really an especially great version of the style, but it’s an enjoyable enough beer.... for what it’s worth.
