COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In 1906, the Kolsch-style beer originated from the Cologne region of Germany as a crisp and light beer to combat the summer heat. Leinenkugel’s® Canoe Paddler™ is our take on the Kolsch-style beer that we tweaked with a touch of rye. Our spring and summer seasonal has subtle malt flavors, a clean finish and adventurous quality.

Clear, pale yellow-gold pour with a thin ring of white head. Sweet corn and rice aroma with some boozy, fruity and grassy, plant notes. Tastes of more of the same, but a bit cleaner than the aroma indicates, light bready yeast and cereal to the finish. Light, off dry feel, with a dry, slightly slick finish and light, but slightly sharp carbonation. Pretty much a cheap Pale Lager on ale yeast, or at least some ingredients to make it seem somewhat fruity.

Pours a kind of piss color from a bottle, quick flash of effervescence with little retention or lacing. Aroma is barnyardy, flavor is the same with some biscuits thrown in, like someone just threw some biscuits into a barn, like, here you go barn. I’m a little drunk.

Bottle: It has a straw yellow color with a white head and strong carbonation. The aroma is barnyard/Hay and the flavor is grain and slight bit of lemon. Very light body with a thin tongue feel. The finish is slightly dry.

Clear lemon yellow with thin whispy head and lacing. Missing the bitter kick I was hoping to get from the rye. Otherwise not very complex with a sweet finish. $9.99/multi sixer at Wegmans Leesburg VA

Pint at Joe’s Pizza in Edwardsville. Very clear golden with only a little foam on top. Grassy with soft fruit. A tiny honey flavor at the finish. Soft malts and lemon.

Draft. Golden pout. This isn’t a koelsch. It is a very fruity golden ale that is pleasant enough.

Good. Not overly impressed but good. I like the light rye finish. Would probably be better cold (drinking room temp) ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz bottle into a pint glass. Gold and clear appearance with active carbonation and a lingering off-white head. Mild aroma of pale malts, light floral/spicy hops and a touch of rye. Pretty bland flavor, not much going on. Light bodied. Not good.

tectactoe (3000) - Michigan, USA - FEB 6, 2015
Bottle: Hazy, pale pear skin color with a bright white head that fizzes out in just a few moments. Very light aroma. Some hay, lemon zest, must, mineral water, & mild metallic earthiness. Mild grains. Flavor is the same, pretty light but a little more amplified. Citrus zest, grass, cereal grains, hay, & a slightly metallic finish. Mostly dry, modestly toasted cracker malts lingering. Very small hint of earth. Very vapid, but not terrible I guess.

Bottle sample at Top of the Hops Biloxi. Hazy yellow color, white head. Aroma of fresh grains. Taste is light lemon.
