rugbydude05 (280), Kew Gardens, New York, USA Oct 27, 2009 Pint on tap at MKE. Dark brown opaque appearance, large head as expected. Aroma is sweet like a root beer but with some malts, chocolate, and roastiness. Flavor is swet and spicy, not bitter at all. Palate is smooth with a full body. Good option for a local brew in Wisconsin. Lawsonciv (10), Norman, Oklahoma, USA Oct 15, 2009 Pours dark. Aroma very hoppy with a little nutiness. Taste of molasses and nuts. Creamy mouthfeel. jebert (110), Watertown, Wisconsin, USA Oct 8, 2009 Pours a deep reddish chocolate crowned by a big foamy beige head. Aroma is mostly hops with a hint of nutiness. Creamy on the palate with a taste of molasses, malt and nuts. Finishes on a nice crisp note. Very enjoyable beer and a good value for the price. Enjoy with any red meat dish, especially Yankee Pot Roast or spare ribs. MadIndian (987), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 13, 2009 Bottled. Not a bad beer from this company. Dark pour beige head. Sweet malt aroma and hints of dark fruit. Sweet taste with a mild hop presence. Medium bodied. Not bad. Cavie (1289), Fort Worth, Texas, USA Aug 30, 2009 I know I rated this before but somehow my rating was DELETED!!! Good thing I back up my ratings. Pretty ruby appearance. Little smell of skunk in the aroma but also has dark elements to it. Bland taste that has a creamy mouthfeel. Not the best. drowland (1337), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Aug 26, 2009 12oz bottle into a pint glass. A very crisp dark beer with a good flavor and sharp finish. bu11zeye (5430), Frisco, Texas, USA Aug 12, 2009 (12oz bottle, courtesy of Cavie) Pours a mahogany body with a small off-white head. Aroma of roasted malt, grass, and grain. Flavor of grassy hops, roasted malt, caramel, earth, and nuts with a dry finish. thirdeye11 (403), Texas, USA Aug 9, 2009 (12oz bottle thanks to cavie) Pours a clear chocolate with great lacing coating the glass. Body is well carbonated and quite creamy. Grain and alcohol abound in the nose, along with a light chocolate. Taste has a watery chocolate but wish it had more of everything. Maybe the best Leinenkugel’s I’ve had though.
