12oz bottle pours a dark chocolate brown with little head. Aromas of roasty malt and bread. Nice flavor, drinkable.

Nice roasted flavor and strong bitter hops. Good beer to enjoy at the end of a long day

Pours dark with a tan head. Looks likea stout but tastes like a slightly hoppy british ale. More bitter on the back end than at the start. Tastes ok but could have been better.

Bottle. Pours a dark creamy color with a dark black stout taste an look. Surprised it's labeled as an amber. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle to half-pint glass (shared with the Mrs.). Looks good for the style; a translucent dark brown with a bit of a reddish tint and foamy light beige head. Smells of fairly mild dark malt and lager yeast. Tastes like it smells with a touch of toastiness. Solid on the palate. Exceeded my expectations.

Bottle. Reddish brown with off white head. Roasty and bitter. Don’t get much creamy.

12 oz bottle shared by my in laws. Pours brown in color with a large creamy beige head. The aroma and flavor have mildly toasted malt, bread, light caramel with some mild earthy hops. Better than the other two I tried, but still not worth seeking out.

Consumed as Miller’s Ale House Captain Jack Dark on an outing with PorterPounder. Very dark, to the point of being opaque - hard to call this a vienna, was guessing dunkler bock. Sweetish, pretty good balance, a little raisin/fruit tone. Medium to slightly heavy body. Maybe a little sugary in the finish. Notes of molasses. Honestly, this is a sloppy rating. Will need to take better notes sometime -- anyway, it wasn’t too bad.

Very rich and creamy. Great color, aroma, and flavor, especially from a bottle. Although the dark, rich flavor was satisfying, the aftertaste was a bit chalky and sometimes made the beer taste waterier.

Bottle. Nose is very roasty and bitter, almost to the point of being like burnt coffee. Taste also has that burnt flavor to it, and it makes it seem more like a porter than an amber. Whatever. It’s drinkable, but not terribly pleasant.
