Easy drinking dark, pleasing aroma and flavor, much smoother than it appears from its opaque pour and creamy head. A good dark to give to someone that doesn’t like dark beer.

From reading the reviews of this beer it seems to be a brew well liked. I thought it was lacking flavor and depth. It poured beautifully, but in the end I just wasn’t impressed. Very easy to drink I will give it that. This would make a good intro for someone new to dark beers.

Pours a deep brown, almost black with a short lasting creamy head. No real strong aromas. Flavor is (big suprise) creamy. A touch of bitter, a touch of carmel. I really like this beer. For this price this has become one of my session brews!

near black color with a smaller beige head. Dark malt and sourdough aroma. Dark caramel flavors with a touch of fruit and weak coffee. Thin feel. A cross between a dunkle, porter and brown stout.

this beer really isn’t very heavy which is ok by me at the moment - t is also (by default) the best lenie beer i’ve had. pretty light (in taste and filling) for a dark beer

12 oz bottle; Water Street Grill, Stevens Point, WI: ruddy brown with a bubbly, only slightly creamy tan head. Light, nutty aroma that has an air of cleanness only a lagered beer can provide. A bit thin on the plate, but does offer some nice coffee and toasted wheat flavours. Though the name is misleading, this is a decent and very drinkable Dunkel.

This is good, great chocolate appearance and flavors, not too thick or rich, just smooth and easy to drink.

Along with Leinie’s Big Butt, the Guinness of the midwest. Very close to Guinness in flavor and appearance. A good fill in for Guinness when you can’t spend 10 bucks on a 6.
