Creamy Dark is aged slowly for a deep, dark color; velvety flavor; and a smooth finish.

Easy to drink, not very challenging. Seems a bit thin, and I couldn’t notice any hopping at all. Pleasant mocha flavor, with a generous malty sweetness.

UPDATED: JAN 30, 2003 Rerate 1/30/03: Now that this is no longer my first Dunkel, I can still say this is smooth and easy to drink, but not as good as other Dunkels I have tried since. 1/19/02 (3.9): Very impressive color and aroma. Smooth pour and it earns the 'creamy' moniker, as I was surprised how smooth it was for a dark beer. My first Dunkel and I would definitely buy again.

quite a good dunkel. has the mouthfeel and maltiness comparable to some stouts. nice malty and toasty flavour that is marred by a cloying sugary sweetness.

Loved it! The local pub serves the red, and I think this is a much better crafted drink. Good taste, during and after. A must for the taste buds.

I like a good dark beer in the wintertime, and this one fits the bill nicely. Roasty, toasty with a hint of chocolate and a long and contemplative finish, it almost makes me wish it would snow about a foot or two. No, it isn’t that good, but if you like dark beer, go for it!

A bit muddy - the dark malts shadowy rather than distinct, but it’s a decent brew.

Decent mouthfeel, a little too roasty in my opinion, but not a bad dunkel.

Smells good, and looks good, but the taste is what I’d expect from a brewery that is run by Miller.

pleasant enough to drink and better than many of the alternatives, but rather thin for a dark beer
