It poured a dark black and gave the same color body. Just a touch of a cap of an off-white head appeared and lasted for a good thirty seconds and slowly died. The smell had some light sweet malts up front with a small dose of hops in the background. The taste was pretty much the same, but had a slightly creaminess to it. The palate was a light with a very steep creaminess hitting the tongue hard. This was a very drinkable beer. Overall, this is a good beer for its style and good for me.

This dark lager poured a deep dark red colour with a creamy, tan coloured head. Scents include metal, lightly toasted malts and a little bit of spice. First sip was quite creamy with flavours of roasted malts and caramel. Finish is burnt and lightly sweet.

"a surprisingly good, roasty, brew...from a fairly unimpressive brewery. i’d recomend this one to anyone looking for a good, dark beer on the lighter side.

A fair dark beer, adequate malts and some hop bite. Clean and fresh, caramel and malt nose, slightly nutty. Drinkable.

Enjoyed at my buddies place in Milwaukee, WI prior to seeing a band I haven't seen in over a decade. Drank from bottle directly, nice and malty, easy drinking, flavorful, overall solid.

After initial pour and the creamy head dissipates has a dark cola appearance. Aroma is roasted malts and taste is the same. A nice beer, not complex but a nice dark lager. Will drink again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: SEP 21, 2014 DRAFT at the Chalet in beautiful rural Southern Wisconsin....a not quite black color with a thick head that may be more the lack of draft talent in our bar maid. Sweet / caramel in the initial taste...smooth through-out....very nice for a Friday night fish fry....will be back.
