2.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
12 oz bottle: Pours a dark chestnut brown with a decent white head. No CO2 release or lacing. Aroma is bad, smells like a sour American lager. Taste is pretty bad too. Not much flavor for a nut brown, weak, thin, bland. Poor offering overall.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle from drabmuh in an effort to help me review all 104 styles. Thanks Matt!
A: The beer is clear and light copper hued, with 1/4" of head.
S: The aroma is primarily of sweet malt, lager, subtle fruits.
T: The beer has some good flavors happening, but they are all very muted and mild. Subtle fruit and nut flavors are pleasant but could be brought out more.
M: Thin in body and perhaps a bit low in carbonation.
D: An OK offering. I had no problem finishing a pint, but likely would not go back for another.

Dark, clear amber with a frothy cream colored head. Weak aroma of roasted hazelnuts and light syrup. Taste is nuts and sweet malts, but watery and really thin. Light bodied with average carbonation; again, thin. Decent flavor if it wasn’t so weak.

3.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Brown beer with toasted nuts, caramel, and even a little cocoa going on in there. Light bodied and easily followed by a second or third. The colder the temps the better it flows.

Pours roasted brown, strong toffee, roasted nut taste. A bit sugary and metallic aftertaste, but not a bad evening beer.

Dark in color with moderate foam. Had a malty smell, and a beautiful brown color. Taste is in the title. Overall a great beer for the holiday season, you m may even consider picking up a few extra packs for of season drinking.

From the bottle poured a brown brew with a light brown head. Light aromas of nutty malt. Nutty and malty flavors. Not wonderful, but I didn’t pour it out.

Originally reviewed: 12/20/08. Pours a dark tawny brown with a decent head. No retention or lacing whatsoever. Smells of toffee, nuts, sweet smelling.
Yikes! This is one of the sweetest beers I’ve ever had. It gets worse as I drink. Taste of brown sugar, syrup, toffee, pecans. This is like a pecan pie in a bottle. I love the pie, but this brew is not good. This is a sugary, syrupy mess. Not a winter warmer at all. Great dessert brew, if you’re into that sort of thing. Personally, I wouldn’t get this again.
