3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: MAY 30, 2003 Bottled. Can’t find a lot to get enthused about here. Kinda tastes more like any American lager beer than anything with "honey" or "weiss" in the name. No complaints about the color though, smell and taste are not off-putting. I had this in a typical Wisconsin bar where this was the only alternative to macro-crap, so it was more refreshing than it otherwise might be. If you had a category for value pricing, this would rate higher.
Re-sampled, 5/29/03. I had a bottle from the ”Leinie's Lodge Tackle Box” and my opinion has improved somewhat. There actually is a spicy weizen aspect in the nose that improves the tasting experience. Maybe the bottles I drank at the bar had been in a glass-doored colloer under flourescent lights for too long? Maybe I had this inside a cardboard box in my fridge at proper beer temps? I dunno. I'm notching my rating up from 3.2 to whatever it is currently.

1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20
Bottle: Thanks to my uncle, who is apparently a huge Leinenkugel fan nowadays. Good on him. Pale yellow body, approaching vapid straw with a flimsy, small, stark white layer of foam that vanishes quickly. Aroma is extremely faint with light notes of honey sweetness, cereal grains, wheat, & stale hops... Slight mustiness. Taste has more of a lager thing going on, but not a good one... Metallic, tinny, with musty hops, a mild sulfuric note, & only a light twinge of honey sweetness mid-palate. Surprisingly snappy, staunchly bitter aftertaste. Tastes old. But it’s not? Not a very good beer.

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
From a mixer on a business trip to Toledo, 2/25/2014. 12 fl oz bottle
Pours a generic gold, with a medium white head. Aromas of honey, malt and a bit of cinammon. Taste is again fairly generic, tastes like an average lager with a hint of honey. Really, nothing special here.

Just not a memorable beer. Balance is okay but the flavors are simply too weak to be considered enjoyable.

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle shared by one of my in laws. Pours clear pale gold with medium sized white head. The aroma and flavor are very light with notes of honey, pale malt, wheat, and grains. Light body, good carbonation. Just not something I would seek out ever.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Not a bad beer, but far from noteworthy. Subdued flavors similar to most wheat beers, with a tinge of extra sweetness. Crisp finish.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
UPDATED: DEC 30, 2013 Bottle.
A- Wheat, cereal.
A- Yellow color, clear liquid, white head.
T- Balanced, slightly bitter. very subtle honey tones.
P- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, crisp finish.
O- Couldn’t detect the honey tones. Wished they would have been stronger. Would have made for a much better beer.

Bought this beer thinking there would be a honey taste to it, I personally didn’t taste honey. An upgrade from your standard cheap beer, but nothing special

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cloudy golden color with a decent white head that does not last. Very wheat and bread flavored with a hint of honey. Smells of honey. Easy to drink and good for fall. Similar to Leinie’s shandy beers but without the fruit. Serve VERY cold. If you don’t really like the wheaty beers, you won’t like this. It’s not my favorite, but the Honey Weiss is certainly an above average brew.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle at the trade show in Las Vegas. (FREE!!) Poured a golden color with a haze. Light white head and some lacing. Very light body. Honey aroma with wheat and bread beer. Taste is WEAK! A little honey that tasted like a candy and pretty much no other flavor. Bleh.
